        Hi,

Purchase the report from SLA and it states that my house is within Zone 2 to Pei Chun, what does it mean for my boy in order to enrol him. My in-laws place is below 1km and my wife’s brother was a student before in Pei Chun,(does it help??)

which phase are you targeting for?

For Pei Chun Phase 2C, the past few years, the balloting had been for within 1km.

Sorry i am still a noob. Pei Chun for 2009 balloting are only for within 1km for 2C rite?

            Do i qualified for

            Phase 2A2
For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school of choice; or whose parent is a staff member of the school of choice.
(Does this refer to my wife's brother? Even if it was like 10 years ago?)

If not, i can only try for, Phase 2B2 -Parent Volunteering. Do they accept more than 1km less than 2km parent?

              Hi takishi1!

Yes, for the past few years, Pei Chun required balloting within 1 km for Phase 2C.

The \"sibling\" here refers to your child's sibling, not you or your wife's siblings. Just because the child's uncles/aunties/grandparents used to study in that school doesn't qualify the child for Phase 2A.

As for PV, please check directly with the school. If I am not wrong, Pei Chun is rather strict in their selection of PVs.

You also mentioned that your in-laws' place is within 1 km from the school. However, if you are going by the caregiver's route, your child falls in the 1-2 km category, not < 1 km category. Please note.

By the way, you haven't reported at the Newbie thread yet, right? Can you please kindly report there? It's a SOP in KSP.com. 😉

hi… i have read through the posts here, but i have a unique situation. we are about to buy a place but realize it is not within 1 km of any primary school.

what would be my options? would that mean that i only fall within 1-2 km? or can i appeal?

                  much thanks,

                    solution #1 : don't buy it .....lolz

solution #2 : check with the school if it is within 1 - 2 km or outside 2km

no appeal will be entertained for distance related issues. not within the radius means not within .....

Hi guys, I posted in another thread on this piece of info and realised that it should be here. 🙂

I wanted to try the SLA paid service but was directed to this site instead.

http://www.onemap.sg/index.html. Under Services -> SchoolQuery. Its free now to check the distance between the school of your choice and your residence.

I'm glad to know through this map, it shows I'm within 1 km from the school of my choice but some other maps showed otherwise. I'm one of those 0.9 - 1.1 km case. 🙂

So I assume this can be trusted right??

there are certain condos which seemingly is within 1km .... but the devil is in the details ....some blocks are within, some are not ......check with the school which block is in ..

Please read the caveat on the onemap.sg website when u want to measure the distance from the school :

\"The measurement result is indicative only. It should not be used as an accurate measurement for official purpose, eg the distance between school and building for Primary One Registration.\"
