Hi, no news on Chinese compo yet.

Have spoken with a few other parents, we think it should be as "exciting" as English compo.

tough, especially the EL. HCL not much better. Luckily Math and Science ok. Else I think I'll have a stroke already.

Wonder what is the rationale of setting such hard papers? to scare the students and/or parents? So we'll scramble to look for tuition?

Hey folks! I almost got a heart attack too when I knew the EL compo results. Already mentally prepared for CL compo so it was kind of expected. Highest in DS’s class is only 15-16. He did slightly better than EL but still, I find marking very strict for both English and Chinese. Haha… I am sure many parents will be sending their kids to writing classes soon… Unless school teachers are able to help raise the bar, what else we can do except sending them to more enrichment classes.

For English compo, teacher's advise for me is buy him P5-P6 compos books to read. Elaborate more..my DS did improved from 15-SA1 to 17-SA2 after following teacher advise.

For Chinese compo, there is no choice but to memorise a lot more good sentence. For PCPS P3 there is no moxie. So at home, you got to choose some chinese compos, and select sentence to get them memorise. A good practise is to have an exercise book, let them copy down the good sentence, memorise it, make it their sentence bank to be used any time..

If you expect sch can help, i think its really very little, so we parents got to work harder at hm, if not the professional.

But these advise are only good for P3 20marks compos.

When it comes to 40marks compos, it is really really hard, for EL, teacher are looking at that plot that can capture readers attention
For chinese, the compos should be full of good sentence..

I still havent figure out how to help my ds improve..haiz..

The last I heard, they won't be moving next year. So P1 next year will have both am & pm sessions.
