I think no sweat lah, cos there will be another sales down the road. Oh, i think maybe you can also hold on till the great singapore sale?? my friend got very very good deals last year during the sale - just nice when she was starting to buy stuff for her new place. some of the stuff she actually told them to deliver a month later or something like that... don't know if you can wait or not though...
      GSS is when??!!! πŸ˜“

For fan: sashimi just bought one called Europace. It has 3 different modes, 3 different oscillations, 6 speeds and can be pushed around easily without squeaking despite its size. I think it's a local brand and he got it at Best Denki for $100+. It also has a temperature display, haha. (Make sure you buy one that can oscillate via remote and not via the \"button\" at the back of the fan.)

Hmm... How come you didn't ask about washing machine?
          thanks! the fan sounds interesting.

i didn't ask for washing machine and fridge cos PIL are going to give them to us as house warming gifts. πŸ˜„

The fan model is ESF 1689.

Wah! So good. We got our washing machine ourselves but luckily, it was the display set so we got $200 discount. I think it was a National. After about 10 years, it was still working but we were worried that it would suddenly die on us one day so we replaced it with a washer-dryer from Toshiba. sashimi says that we need a new fridge too. Something about him budgeting to change it this year.

ok..will keep a look out for that fan. hope aesthetically it is appealing cos dh fancies aesthetic over functionality. πŸ˜‰
ya lor. so good of them. i told dh that i 'took him away from them' (ie that we moved out) and yet they still so nice to us. πŸ˜‰

wah, your in-laws are quite generous! they are supportive of you moving out? My FIL is not in favour of us moving out. so we are keeping a low profile when we go look at houses…

Yes, GSS is usually in July.

ya...although can see that FIL sound a bit sad.
we brought them along for the second viewing too.
they intend to move into our neighbourhood when the resale market cools down (or when they found an ideal unit at an acceptable price).
i 'consulted' MIL quite a fair bit on certain housing issues, but dh told me that we should start to develop our own style of managing and decision (even furniture style!) since now we already 'flew off the nest'. 😐
