hi we liked elisa for playclub in forum. she’s professional with the parents/ caregivers and yet can handle the kids in a loving way. when me and dd were in her playclub class, i was quite surprised to see that despite her young age, she can manage the class superbly.


one of the senior teachers is also good but she’s one of those teachers who quite "heck-care" those kids who come with maids. but since i bring my dd, she shower quite a lot of attention on her. so depends on u - if u mind that she’s such a teacher. u can pm me for her name.

we went to julia gabriel in tanglin mall to get to know more about the programmes offered . The front office staff were horrible in their approach. i have not tried other similiar centres .

However a point to note , is how authentic will the training programme be for all this big name organizations when they come over here ?

Julia Gabriel starts in Singapore. Its not from any where else. I believed Julia herself is not active in her enrichment centre. She is more occupied in writing books and phonics programme. I purchased her reading and phonic books. It is very interesting.

However if you want a good enrichment centre with no prep sales talk or over promise and under deliver, then you should try Genius Space at Tanglin Road. Google them. My 2 year daughter is in their Young Genius programme and she loves going there every day.

Actually this will depend on which center are you referring. I recommend Mellisa Fernandez for the East Coast Branch. She used to teach in Forum branch. My gal was with her for 2 terms until she transferred to East Coast.

In my opinion she is a great teacher in PlayClub because she is able to attract the children attention with her \"drama\" approach. For example, her tone, singing method, and body language to attract the children attention during story telling and bear time.

Now my gal is in the last term of JG (she will go for Pat School House next March). As Mellisa replacement, there is Claire which also good but is not as great as Mel. However, it seems that my gal can not forget Mellisa up to now, because she keeps asking Mellisa every time she goes to Claire class.

I should say that not every good school will be the best school for every child. Especially for such young age, the most important thing is that your child is happy and having fun there.

I sent my kids to Julia Gabriel when they were kids and I think they were pretty Good.


I went to growing up gifted as well, and I think JG is much better.

In fact, just recently, I met the Chiltern House and Julia Gabriel staff and they were very friendly and they definitely knew their stuff. U can see the photos and review at my blog

I sent my child to JGC for about a year. I agree with edunloaded, I think JG is much better.

Maybe its the teachers or time slot :?

When I first went for the trial, didn't quite gel with the crowd - both teachers and mummies. Then I waited for about two mths later and signed up for another trial at an earlier time slot. From then, as they say, the rest is history ....

Actually we suspected it was the teachers (the 2 terms there were 2 different sets of teachers cos the earlier one quit) + the programme.

Cos i think Edudrama was very 'drama', so when the China teacher started acting - her voice became very shrill -- and that is when my boy starts non-stop.

No prob with the English classes though.

Hi - i think the revamped JG programme for bilingual playclub is not so good. Its soooo messy and noisy -- think its a total waste of money!

Had attended the old bilingual playclub programme with DS1 and the new one with DS2.

So with DS3 - since i hated the new programme - i went to try out GuG for their Parents n Tots Bilingual. Felt the programme was better.

That said, still sending my DS 1 and 2 to JG R&W and Edudrama (Eng) programmes cos i think they are ok. Just not for the bb programme.

Above is my personal experience - may not be same as other parents.
