http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... start=1630
But just in case procedures has changed, please call SBF to confirm the procedures again as stated on school website:

Hiya,
I am an old girl of MBS and planning to register my DD to MBS for P1 next year under 2A2.
My friend just sent me a list of of the school ranking for the past 6 years and I was quite surprised that MBS wasn't in the top 40 list. I googled and found an info that MBS was in the top 5 in the early 2000s but not much info for the after years.
While I am not really driven by the rank and have received updated feedback regarding the values that MBS teaches the children, I am curious to know if MBS indeed drop in standard in terms of academic.
Can anyone whose children are now in MBS share their experience? Appreciate your help!

With top PSLE scores not made publicly available in recent years which is in line with the MOE guideline, I wonder how can one rank the schools these days. Whatever we hear is based on hearsay. Hence, I would personally take it with a pinch of salt.Hiya,

Also, how do we define top schools? It seems to be a narrow definition based on those scores. What about non academic aspects? character building? culture? cca exposure? etc.... the list goes on. Also, with so many kids having tuition these days, is it the pure effort of the school or tuition center contributed as well????
Personally, I am ex-MBS and my older kids have benefited from MBS exposure so I have no complaints. -
Thanks for your reply, MMM!
And with this, I have applied for Maha Bodhi yesterday!
Who else has done the same? :rahrah: -

Hi, does any parent know if students in this school have to go for compulsory swimming lessons? If yes, when do they start and any exemption if the students are already taking swimming lessons? What type of swimming certificates do they need to be exempted from the swimming class? :thankyou:

Swimming is not compulsory. There will be a form given and you just need to indicate the reasons. No need to provide the swimming certificates even if you have them. I think it is for p3 students. -
