We did PV @ St Nicholas and I received a P2B recommendation letter from SHHK.Hi Hweepang!
Ai Tong no balloting within 1km this year. Did you get the seat?
(I rented a place that is within 1km from both Ai Tong & St Nicholas.)
It was quite a nervy Tuesday. We need to decide which school to apply for P2B. (Prior years' odds for these 2 schools are somewhat similar and we will place our registration with the school with better odds).
We did a check at around 3.30pm. Applicants within 1km: St Nic 29:21 while Ai Tong was at 19:20. We immediately submitted our application at Ai Tong @ approx. 4pm.
If there were no additional applications between 4 to 430pm, we will confirm our place without balloting. That was a long 30min wait. Along with us were 4 other kiasu parents (they submitted their application on Monday) waiting for that magic moment. I was very tempted to chain up the office to stop anyone from entering........and the rest are now history and statistics.
Done the school uniform measurements on that day.

:congrats: Hweepang!
Well done! Your efforts paid off.

Hi,
I wish to ask:
If at Phase 2B there is no balloting involved, so all the students enrolled into the school automatically as supply more than demand. Does it means the 30 months stay in the current address is not applicable anymore? -
Singapore does not allow for dual citizenship. Foreigners who renounce their own citizenship to become Singaporeans are here either for the long haul to set their roots down or they are here for a few years before renouncing their sg citizenship to be US/ Canadians citizens. Certainly not for something as frivolous as primary 1 registration. Their home country is under no obligation to welcome them back either.

Yes... but there's a small technicality in the Constitution that says no for minors.
If a child is born to parents of different citizenship, the child can hold dual citizenship until the age of 21 years old when the adult (i.e. child) must make a decision on which citizenship to hold and which to renounce. If the adult fails to make a decision, the Government will deprive the child of the Singapore citizenship.
P/S: P1 application deals with the child's citizenship and not the parents'

Hi,
My in lawsβ house is within 1km of Rosyth. They are currently living with us n renting out their house. Is it OK to change our address on the nric nearer the date of registration n try to ballot in phase 2c n then move back to their house if balloting is successful? If not successful, we will stay put in current house n register in a neighborhood school under phase 2c sup? -

Do note that under the National Registration Act, it is a felony to change the address of your NRIC to one that you are not currently staying in. Then again, since you own that address, it will be hard to detect. What you are doing is in the grey area.Hi,

Technically, I m really committed to moving back if balloting is successful. I guess will have to check with MOE officially.
