But suprising her cleaniness is still ok.. Only princess attitude.. πŸ™‚

      Hi Singlemind

Great that you got back the loan money. If you go to another agent for replacement, then you'll have to pay the full agent fee again right? Else just have to grit your teeth and \"tahan\" all the nonsense. What to do?

Somethings you can do to reduce your frustrations:
      1. sit her down and set her some house rules and boundaries for behaviour/attitudes. Explain clearly to her your expectations. Sometimes people are just brought up that way and they really can't see anything wrong with their behaviour and won't understand you even if you get frustrated with them.
      2. Give her targets she must meet eg: show improvement in attitude by end of the year
      3. Tell her the \"non-negotiable\" items. eg: if you steal/bring boyfriends home, you will be fired for sure\"..etc...
      4. Get her to sign. This is to protect yourself.

      Good luck.

Hi, at first i have the same mentality changing maid is troublesome. I endure their attitude.
Now i realised when I gave a chance to them, I might expose my children to danger.

I realised is not how we train or the background. Sometime is their own mentality. Coming from a poor background does not mean a person can scream at boss, cheating, 'black face' and answer back.
Worst is stole money or mistreat our children.

Depend on luck to get a maid who really need to earn money. Beside, very important we must get a supportive and good agency.

My current helper just told me they are afraid when they hv no loan and we return them to home country.

My stand point is be firm to them. If cannot work out, just change the maid but again with support of good agent.
Good luck to all of us.

              Good day everyone!
Hi, is all by luck but I try to increase my chance of telling them directly on my house rule during interview. Some just open to me and reject it.

Secondly, I will review their family to see whether she is here for a job or holiday.

However, I still meet a helper who cheatted me from first day of interview. So really luck.
If i know how worst is she, I will send her back to Indo instead of allow her for transfer.

Whether ex Indon or fresh one is better, one cannot tell.

Best is you tell them directly the house rules and consequences and get them to understand the scope of work then ask the maid to sign on it. Sign in your presence. The serious ones will consider, the insincere ones will think twice.

For my last maid, the agent said told me to email and he will get the maid to sign but never did. However the return email said the maid agreed to it but no signature. Agent said, \"don't worry, the maid agreed already\". DON'T BUY THAT.

Till now agent only give me one bio-data and just tell me this one ok.
From pic it look like 50++ and is quite dissappointed tat by now they should know our expectation.

If you guys have any good maid recommend pls let me know.
BTW >>> MAID REQUESTED HP TODAY!
Already ask agent to bring her back ASAP!

                  😞

I agree that getting a decent maid really depends on luck. I wanted to get a PhilIpino maid so that we don’t have problems communicating with her but the Philipino maids nowadays have a lot of different patterns. If take Indonesian maid, will have communication barrier.

                      dear Singlemind

Don't worry about the maid's age.. My best Fil maid was 45++. It was 7 years ago and I still miss her. People who are older tend to be more stable, mature, able to reason and less impulsive in their words, response and actions. Their ability to emphatise with employers is greater .. They can \"see\" where you are coming from even if they do not necessarily agree with you. Life has a way of mellowing a person.

The younger ones (Fil maids) will ask me \"why can't show semi-nude pics\" to my 7 year old child? Like it's their way or NO way mentality..

Better old and stable then one like this: came out in the news yesterday. 25 year old myanmar maid probably younger than claimed.
