I went down to the agency immediately and i demand an immediate refund and compensation!!! Maybe i am lucky and the lady boss was rushing for time so she also unwillingly return me on the spot.

Yes, all want min 2-4 days off, and worse still the 2 mynnmar maid the first moment step into my house asked for wi-fi already, haven’t even start work, they told me their ex-employer all gave them wi-fi access. This type of quality still want me to give them wi-fi!!

The levy die die want us to foot when they do all these to us.

        Hi Singlemind,

I do not understand why are we under their mercy, we are genuine looking for maids to look after our children while we work to supplement family expenses and not those tai tai just get a maid to serve them, why do we need to pay for the levy and absorbing cost when we are not at fault.

Sigh.. really feel miserable but I called MOM, they just told me nothing can be done.
OMG!! MOM totally hopeless. Don't call next time cos you are speaking to the counter staff.
Write to the BIG BIG BOSS. :?:

He should know about the shoddy state of affairs happening in Spore. :imdrowning:

Just reading all the news and MOM doing nothing to step in makes me roll my eyes.

My mum recently hired a Myanmar maid to look after my grandma. They were all full of praise for her... can cook very well, speak good Mandarin, do things very efficient, work in SG before. Who knows, she tried to steal $ while my grandma is asleep and no one else is at home! Thinking my grandma is sleeping, she slipped into my uncle's room trying to unlock the drawer. Luckily, my grandma suddenly woke up and caught her in the act. Of course she denied it and left the key hanging there. After checking, they realised the maid actually took the key which was hidden in the cupboard jacket. See, that's what they do at home. Tidying and checking things at the same time. If really need to hire maid, be sure to keep all your valuables locked and keys well-kept.

Oh dear, this is really bad.

Are you going to keep this maid?

Nope. Sending her back to agency. She has been with my mum for a month only.

Looks like getting a good maid is very rare these days. I have gone maidless and had considered many times to get a maid again. The many posts here on the problems many of you face just make me think twice … even thrice … about getting a maid again.

For those who are having maids now and intend to go maidless some time in the future, prepare by having machines and robots to help you. However, I know in many homes with young children and elderly, employing a maid is still a necessity.

I hope to read some nice posts about good maids from time to time too. All the best in your search for good helpers to help you.

I keep my things locked in the safe. Be good to buy a safe with combi locks.

Stealing is a crime. Can report to Police so the maid won't be allowed to come to Singapore again next time and other employers won't have to suffer this problem.

The bad maids keep getting recycled and recycled and what goes around comes around. The good gets infected by the bad because there are NO CONSEQUENCES FOR THEM. :grphug: No consequences means keep doing the same acts and do them better next time so don't get caught! :rotflmao:

I understand the sad predicament of most of us

Informed MOM that I wanted to blacklist my ex-maid who is now with another Employer for using soap to wash my food. Guess what-MOM’s reply was that they cannot blacklist maids. The most they could do is to add a comment that future employers can only contact me for reference.

That is good. Its difficult to live with a maid whom you don't trust.

What crap! They can blacklist employers but not maids?
