It's less than 100days to A levels. Can't wait for it to end and go for a holiday. It's kind of draggy.

How are the statistical charts in yr DD's sch, Zeemimi ? Did they disclose ?

I don't know leh. Must ask jtoh. They prolly did to the students but I'm clueless. My dd is similarly clueless to how her friends perform cos she doesn't ask.

Hi Augmum and Zeemimi
No idea on the stats. But I hear the poorest results are usually recorded at Year 6 CT1 and JCT. There are still students scoring As in various subjects though. And people moving in and out of remedial classes. 😄
Ok, thanks Jtoh n Zeemimi for yr feedbk...so the sch didnt put up the statistics to show the whole cohort...
As for my gal's sch, they did when they gave out the results But not for every subjs , i think...

Yup...i too heard that generally 6 CT1 and JCT results are the worse....

Gal's class / sch mates are rather open abt their results....they share amongst themselves ....

It's certainly possible to still score straight As in JC. I know of a few such people who recently received their grade report for CT1 in JC1. I must admit these people r highly gifted n passionate n disciplined.

This is possible but as we all know - there are some JCs which are better than others. So the different JCs will hv different school exam standards.

Yes, of coz it is still possible...
What i was saying was that, in this particular JCT in JC2 of my gal's sch,...For some subj, there wasnt even a single A grade achieved...

Also, i understand that some JCs do heavy moderation...could possibly a jump in several grades...
Heard of a case last yr, in a TOP JC,( dont ask me which JC 😉 ) After moderation, this student had gotten straight As ....
But when came to actual A level results, she was utterly disappointed to get 2 Bs...
So it looks like not possible to get As & Bs only in JCs. Anyone's kids never get worse than a B?

Haha...JC1, i still could see As...

How are the statistical charts in yr DD's sch, Zeemimi ? Did they disclose ?

Oh dear, I don't remember my DD ever scoring an A in JC1.
Nvm lah....Ultimately is the A Level results that matter most...

Yes I heard there is some moderation for those applying scholarship. :yikes: don't ask me which school but there is no smoke if no fire. :siam:

Hi !

I would like to seek parent’s opinion. My girl is in jc2 this year. Her teacher asked her to do 5 months relief teaching at her own JC next year after her A levels. What do you think of this? It seems intimidating to teach students 2 years her junior. And it looks like she can’t really take a break after the A levels from studies because she has to keep uptodate with the material. I wonder if I should encourage her or let her take a good break after A levels.

Its actually not that bad. When I was in JC1, we didnt have a math teacher because the one we got was on maternity leaver. So a graduated student took over for a few months. It was okay.

Its also good income and experience. I dont think there's a real need for a holiday either. Considering that in uni you will have really long summer breaks too. Most students also go on exchange during semester time in university and treat that as a holiday as well lol. She can also go for a holiday in December when uni takes a break for about a month and a half. In total, you only have 26 weeks of university each year. Broken up into two semesters of 13 weeks each. So you're left with another 26 weeks of the year to enjoy.

Is it acceptable in the JCs for boys to be spotting Henna tattoos on their hands? Thought Henna is normally used by Hindu and Muslim brides.
