End of day, if by the registration time cannot clock, you cannot register under Phase 2B. Years back, friend of mine couldn't clock enough time for Nan Hua, end up had to look somewhere else.
So encourage those pvs to either get a regular duty....or work super hard in the initial months to make sure they can clock enough time. -
will the school ‘help’ u to clock the hrs? i mean will they ask for ur ‘service’ as n when? if there r quite a few PV, then how can everyone be able to reach the ‘quota’? even though i wan to ‘help out’ everyday, the school might not have work for me to do…

Mine allocated standardised hours...traffic warden. 2 times (1hour each) a week, 40 weeks = 80 hours in a year...no more no less

I think this depends on the person in charge of assigning work.
For those more established schools (ie pv program running for quite some time), they will be in a good place to gauge the approximate places and therefore accept x number of pvs (herein lies another problem - the pv selection process), and give them adequate amount of work.
I have heard of a couple of schools that indiscriminately accept pvs....and then pvs find they cannot get enough work.
Best strategy is always to start early and start strong. Then you can saunter your way to the finish line. If you only start a the cutoff point, it could be a desperate dash to the end. -

the regular work type is the best, although getting the requisite hours is quite painful (imagine you got to commit long term and it's a trickle each time). I know pp who bang on getting those work for outings that allow one to clock many hours at a go....that one is playing a bit close to the edge. ok if there is some more years to accumulate. -
For certain schools, PV hours can be hard to get. Parents doing PV have to look out for slots to chalk up time.
My hubby was allocated standard time for PV - every Saturday 8-1pm. Chalked up 40 hours very fast. There was once school asked if he was able to do 5 hours to wash sweet potatoes for Civil Defence day. I did it because I was free that day.
Hubby told me his friend’s PV hours (same school) was chalked up every Saturday by bringing boys somewhere for street soccer - 2 sessions per Sat. Naturally finished those 40 hours very fast. -

my hubby peeled pomelos for 2 years straight during mid autumn festival. That was good cos I think we clocked more than 4 hours each time. Depends on how the school carry out - if they send out mass email and fastest respondents get, better to make sure one is contactable via the means provided (ie don't give email account that one hardly go in).For certain schools, PV hours can be hard to get.
