      qms:
The school used to have such arrangement with HDB. This arrangement was terminated last November.

Probably due to misuse by parents and complaints from residents. sigh..... But i do like the current friday morning arrangement where parents are allowed to drive in and drop the kid off at the covered driveway.

How can misuse? Thought there is certain time period to park? Hope RMPS can implement the parking scheme again.

              Why not?

With so many cars, and limited white lots at the carpark nearest to the school, many parents will resort to parking on lots meant for season parking holders. You must remember that the pickup time for school children is when most working class go home, too. So, when parents park their cars in the red lots, residents have to park illegally, if they can't find any more lots. When they park illegally, they will get fined.

For your case, would you be willing to go to a further carpark if the nearest carpark has no more white lots?

              That's how misuse can happen.

In addition to the misuse, I believe the increased demand from residents is also a factor.

Now that new carpark lots are in the process of being built, let's hope the school is able to strike a deal with the authority.

I thought the school have designate quite a few areas with white lot where those holding the RMPS ticket can park? I would sure go to the white lot if mean to walk a distance. If not the enforcement come where that would be straight away summon of $50. 😢

Well, not everybody is like you, titank. To those people, distance is the most important. 😐

I wonder how was the session that blue-march attended with the principal. Hope to hear more updates from her.

I’m a little confused… When is this session with the Principal taking place?

Is it a mass meeting or by class?

BTW, how do you find the form teacher for your child’s class? Mine is sometimes responsive sometimes not.

                      Hi all,

                      Here are the updates:

P1 streaming - QMS, no, this does not depend on the cohort. Unlike GEP, it depends on the Principal to make the decision. She has not decided how many best classes to stream for next year. The year b4 last year was 3 classes, then she cut down to 2 classes last year and next year maybe just one....not confirmed yet.
This means there may be only 30 students in top class out of the 240 students

For chn who are slower, there will be teachers (external and paid by school) to help them improve. So not to worry.

Revamp of the Carteen to a cafe: No increase in prices as the rental remains the same so stalls owners are not allowed to raise the $$$. Heng ah! No :moneyflies:

Construction begins: Sch will ensure all safety measures are taken and they will try to station students as far away from the construction site as possible. The site will be blocked and once completed, students will move to the completed bldgs and the other half will then begin. Containers may be used, not sure yet.

                      Other pointers to share:
One parent commented that her child's form teacher is too lenient. When she teaches her child at home, the child will say:' teacher says cannot finish the class work, never mind....cannot get full marks for spelling or cannot read some words, never mind...' She hopes the teacher can be more strict. Mdm Lee then asked for other parents' opinion. One of us said the teacher & parent should have a discussion on how to improve the child's learning attitude, after all, the parent knows the child the best and teacher can gather more info in order to help the child.

Mdm Lee then commented that as parents, we have the highest authority as we want our children to grow up the way we want them to be and we're responsible for their future. Teachers do play an important roles but how they can influence the students, as compared to parents, still rank as 2nd. So we're playing a very important and indispensable role in raising our children. To add on, she's happy to see us here attending this session and take interest and effort in our child's studies.

Changing of teaching approach - She shared on her business trips to other countries to observe how the young children learn thru' play, the diff teaching methods where no textbooks are used but just a year's syllabus. There may be a change in our future teaching approach but we have to do it gradually to avoid big shock to the parents here. I think this is good news, as children should enjoy learning and not forced to learn.

Homework - some parents feedback not many homework (i'm one of them in this earlier thread  ) and Mdm Lee said - Not yet ! wait till after the honeymoon period :!: (6 mths later) we'll see ok 🙏 ...better enjoy this June holidays

That's about all, I was not able to address some of your issues here as time was overrun liao - you may email to Mdm Lee (i've written mine on the feedback form for the Eng/ Maths sessions per week thingy) and she'll respond accordingly.

I found this session very informative and am so glad that my girl is in this school.

                      Cheers!
