I went Kyushu so many years ago (17?) with ANA Holidays, I forgot almost everything already except the wonderful hotspring bath at Beppu. But I actually like the atomic bomb museum in Nagasaki better. Still remember the clock that stopped at the time of the strike. Maybe because it was my first visit so it made an unforgettable impact and impression.Dnls_mum:
My sister going to Kyushu at the end of the year. She bought SQ tickets direct to Fukuoka. So convenient. Then no need to buy All Japan rail pass. Just buy Kyushu rail pass cheaper.

I like Beppu and Yufuin.
The Nagasaki Chinatown was a disappointment as compared to Yokohama's.
The Peace Park of Nagasaki can't be compared to Hiroshima's too.
But the Mt Inasa ropeway was gd.
I bet you have tried sara udon or champon. -

Haha...you travel to too many places already, so maybe everything not so exciting any more. Year end NZ not bad. Weather is nice. Good for relaxing and slow pace vacation. Actually a lot of family time opportunity. UK too grey in Dec. I was in London in oct previously and weather so grey and dark so early.Dnls_mum:

No, I didnt do London/Cambridge at all though initially planned for year-end. Dh and dd want to go there to watch football which made me :roll:
So you see, I explored so many including NZ but in the end, still yet to make up my mind. -

Actually Japan is nice all seasons except Summer. Spring got sakura, autumn got colour maple leaves, winder got nice snow scene. In Nov, I am planning to stay 3 more nights after my business trip and make a trip to Kawaguchiko since cannot go Hakone as Ropeway is closed :(. Hope to catch the autumn colours of Mt fuji. I am hopping to have time to catch the winter illumination at Sagamiko too. Have you seen that? Dunno worth going or not :?Dnls_mum:

I did but it was not as fantastic as expected. The ryokan agreed to drive us there and then picked us up an hr later. It was pretty chilly and the trees were just lighted up. Many tourists walked around to take pic.
I would prefer to remain in the ryokan to be soaked in the hotspring.
Yes, summer can be very warm and wet due to the baiyu. My 1st trip to Japan was in Jun/Jul and I tasted the rainy season.
To me Hakone is too touristy and I prefer Kawaguchiko. The Kachi kachi ropeway will be nice IF the weather is nice w/o clouds. -

No. But my friend went last Nov. I saw her photos. Very pretty. There was a place by the sea that looked like Greece! It seems to be the new go to place for Singaporeans. Probably because Singaporeans have all visited other parts of Japan already and are looking for new places to go. I understand that Prime travel has also starting organizing tours there.
