      Asking for a friend -

      a) For the Einstein club (math), when would lessons commence and what is the frequency of the lessons? What is being taught there, is it the same as masterclass?

      b) Besides the rigorous academic focus in NUSH, is CCA big in the school, or just one-of-those-things? Does it have taekwondo or tennis as a CCA?

      c) Besides the usual DSO and DSTA scholarships, what if students are not interested to venture into that industry. Do some of them receive other types of PSC scholarship?

      Thanks folks.
      A) the first phase of training (weekly for a few weeks, can't remember exactly how many weeks) is for \"screening\" out the candidates for IMSO team and those who make it will attend 2nd phase of training to prepare for IMSO in November.

      B) for CCA, the focus is more on cultivating a lifelong interest or hobby that one can enjoy even after graduation, rather than very competition based.

      C) many other scholarships such as SAF, S'pore Police Force, PSC, etc. The more common ones are DSO, A-Star, NUS, NTU scholarships, scholarships from medical field ... ... Btw, the school produced its first President Scholar last year.

My DS went for the interview yesterday. I was there from 1.05 to 1.45pm. The children first waited in the open area - 6 rows of 8-10 children each row, then some were taken to another waiting area (I think they are split into 4 sections cos different groups walked to different parts of the school), and then more children came and joined in the open area (and after a while they were also led to the other waiting areas). My estimate is that there are probably 70-90 children who have been called for interview. Parents who saw only about 40 students waiting could probably be because some were already led away to other areas.

Interview is 3 interviewers to 1 child. Mostly personal questions and like chit chatting, but my boy was asked what happened at one of the stations during selection camp - I think he got the answer wrong at that station. They also asked the common question of which other schools he DSAed to.

Interview seems to be in alphabetical order so those with surname Ang would finish fast and can go off early. When my DS finished at about 4.30pm, he said that there were still about 15-20 more people to go.

With so many called for interview, there is bound to be CO, WL and reject…I am guessing after selection camp 100 confirmed CO, 200 reject and the 100 or so in between gets called up for interview. But I could be wrong.

Looks like no one has got any updates on the selection camp/interview results yet. Its almost end of the day today and guessing next week we will get to know. 15th Aug is DSA School preview, so hoping to know by Tuesday.
