Hi parents, need some advice. We are registering next year for 2017 intake. SC stay in Sengkang. We want to apply for Nan Chiau - NCPS but most likely tough because that school every year SC within 1km need to ballot also. I'm keen on getting my child into SGPS if NCPS not successful. Should I use up our Phase 2c chance in NCPS and then do phase 2Cs in SGPS? If this route, what are our chances of getting into SGPS? Or is it better to straight away use our Phase 2c chance for SGPS? We stay more than 2km from SGPS.Gerri_mummy:
Hi Parents I am interested to get my son (2017 intake). Would appreciate if anyone can advise me whether is it better to do PV? Not sure if under 2C need to go thru balloting a not.
For the past 2 years for 2014/2015 intake, no balloting under phase 2C.
We have our 1st Child got into SGPS in 2014 and we did not participate PV.
And we are staying outside 2km from school.
One more question is, comparing SGPS and Montfort Junior- which school is better based on discipline, academic and CCA? Thanks for your input. -
Hi Savannah00,
NCPS has really hot history of balloting every year. how near are you staying from the school?
to what I know, last year SGPS no balloting and filled up just nice after 2cs.
maybe you can check on this year's numbers after registrations are over.
But for us we try to avoid the stress of balloting as much as possible.
Maybe best if you could visit the schools and see which environment you prefer? My boy is not in SGPS yet so i can't give you much advice on the school, but only that we rather liked it when we visited during the open house. School interior doesn't feel too big or overwhelming and lower primary classrooms are on the lower floors.:) -

We are just opposite NCPS. I see this year by now phase 2c oversubscribed. When is the open house usually for SGPS? -
Savannah00:
Hi, the open house for SGPS is already over

hi shugarhigh,
I also registered my son to sgps.
I called up today abt 330pm they still have 34 vacancies. so i guess my son will be attending the school. hopefully no surprises.
btw i also stay at amk ave 10, maybe can arrange home transport if our kids are in the same class
shugarhigh:
Hi Orb,
thanks for the suggestion! yes, we shall do a morning try out one day!
leejeslyn, sorry no, I don't have contacts but I'm also in AMK area at ave 10.
If our boys do happen to be in same class and have same timetable maybe we can work out the going home transport. -

Congrats that your child gets into SGPS. So you applied under phase 2c? Would you recommend the best way is just completely avoid nan chiau and apply for SGPS under phase 2c? But we stay more than 2km away from SGPS. Still possible to get in? If no ballot should b ok right? The open house for next year's applicants should also be 2-3 months before 2016 P1 registration (2017 intake) starts right? -
Hi Kenzu
You're at ave 10 too?:) so coincidence. Think for SGPS they told us that last year they filled up just nice after 2Cs.
Maybe can see you during the orientation in nov. Will you be going?
Hi savannah00,
We applied under phase 2b for SGPS. As for which school to sign up at, you probably have to go through both schools and see which you'd want to send your boy to coz since you are within 1km to nan chiau, logistics might be easier vs transport to SGPS? Based on this year's numbers, there's no balloting for phase 2c. But you still have lotsa time to decide so no worries.
This year open house for SGPS was in late May so look out for it next year.

yup will be going
