My son tried the student care 7 years ago.Hi any mummies...
How s Pei Hwa inhouse student care?
What do the children do in the student care other than finishing up their homework? Do they get help from the teachers if they encountered problem?
Food/Shower provided?
Just clueless about student care but wonder if it trains the child to be more independent?...
- There is no shower facility unless you use the school toilet to shower.
- Food is not provided. The teachers bring the children to the canteen and teach them how to buy food in the beginning. After that, the teachers accompany the children everyday to the canteen to have their lunch.
- If the child encounters problem, the teachers will help out.
- The teachers also test their spellings for the week if any, to prepare them for the actual test.
- The teachers also teach them life lessons from the bible daily.
- During holidays, there may be outings.
- Since the canteen is closed during holidays, food is catered but have to pay extra naturally.
Not sure if things have changed since it was so long ago.
I suggest you call them up to find out more or better still, pay them a visit to observe and ask questions?

Welcome!! :rahrah:
For those who might be interested in the after school care services, might want to contact them on your queries earlier instead of waiting to do so (& still make a decision) on the actual orientation day in Dec. You might find the places get allocated sooner than expected... -

You plan to put yours in the school student care?
Not sure if it is good.

Your kid in which level already? How you find the school? Yours in the school student care? How you find it?
Thks. -
Hi jrjhmum,
I still have 2 kids in the upper Pri. The school is fine but a lot really depends on the teachers allocated to your kids too.
A lot of chances and opportunities given to the kids ( most P1 Trs r receptive to let young kids try out leadership roles). Of cos CCAs can be a lot better and more varied, but sadly there r jus no enuff space…
I am not the best pax to ask. I was interested in the student care then but in the end did not try it. One of the moms did tell me that it might get a bit rowdy (there r older kids too) once the children are left on their free time. Maybe someone else can share more details. -

So in the end where you put your kids for their student care. I really need to find a good one to settle for the six years.
Hope someone can share their experiences. -
Hi jrjhmum,
Haha I got desperate and end up ‘recruiting’ my mom…
However u can try this Trans Student Care Centre at Toh Yi Dr and The Kidz Club at Lor Kilat(I think still there). -
There is a student care centre at Bt Timah Rd

Further away form PH but if the peers are from the nearby schools like Nanyang, RGS, I think the environment might be better in terms of peer influence.
