I would advise parents going for 2B to "spread your risk" - that is apply for more than one school. Don’t put all hopes on one school. One must always prepare for "what if".

As I mentioned earlier on - "It is not only we parents who are choosing the schools, the schools also choose us - thru’ our application forms and interviews. "

I feel that parents should apply PV at more schools because there maybe only a few would accept you. This is due to the PV intake requirements (skiilset needed) vary from different schools. After you have a list of school accepted you, then it is your chance to choose them.

Maybe this has been mentioned earlier....just to highlight, better to choose a school within 1 km even if you are doing PV.

Because, PV with 1km, your chances are 'almost' as good as guaranteed.
Except for a few ultra super incredibily popular schools, may need to ballot within 1km for phrase 2B

As for me, I only applied for PV in one school. I started calling the principal when my girl was 3+yo (kiasu parent  )
Alternatively, join grassroot. Also phrase 2B

Yah sleepy, my plan was to apply PV, then move to within 1km of the school which accepts my PV application. But in the end, things didnt go according to plan, hee...

I think there will be more committment needed for grassroot - definitely need to work more than 40hrs, outside office hour and weekends. But one advantage is that you will be given the chance to select any school within that GRC.

But advantage of PV over grassroot is that you get to know the school better, plus the chance to network with parents of ur kids’ future classmates.

Yes if possible try to do PV for the schools that you want to get in.

Doing Grassroot PV is good where you can select the schools in the GRC.But if the GRC change then the school would also change. You have to be Executive Membership in order to be in Phase 2B.

The duration to get Executive Membership would depends on how \"hard working\" you perform in your RC organisation work.
