For this one, they teach you some sec 1 Science. Not tackling any school papers. Anything can be done to prepare, right?. End of the day, they don't promise you anything...

I took a look at their website. For DSA preparation course, they are only teaching Science?? Very unusual, leh, bc being tested on Science itself as a subject is not done by most sec schools under DSA except maybe NUSH & HCI? Even SST doesn't test Science but Eng/Math/Abstract.

        http://www.sciencehub.com.sg/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=102

        Extract from their website:
The DSA class will expose students to secondary science syllabus in an attempt to broaden their knowledge of Science. Every set of 10 lessons will focus on a different Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology). The practices done during the lessons will also train student’s reasoning and analytical skills which will aid them in various tests.

My DD1 came home & told us that RGS is inviting the girls in her class to a tea session. Seems like RGS is quite aggresive; wonder if they will talk abt DSA during the session and I guess many schools will receive this invitation too. But my DD1 not keen on RGS - she’s eyeing the other girl school but don’t know if NYGH is organising any tea session ??

Your daughter and her friends must have very strong qualifications to be invited for tea by RGS. Is it just for selected students only?

Yes, RGS write to primary schools (don't know how many of them) to invite top few pupils of the school cohort for the tea session with the principal.
(heard that they started only when the new Principal takes over)

last year, there were a total of 4 girls fr my gal's sch being invited.
We went for the session, the principal briefed us on the school itself and off course giving data of their outstanding RI (JC) A level results.
They would definitely touch on the DSA issue.......
During the Questions and Answers session, parents asked whatever they wanna to know abt the DSA.

though my gal, same as yr gal, was not keen on RGS, we still went for the tea session to \"experience\" the atmosphere/environment of RGS..........

then kwai kwai sat there and listen to talk by P and some fellow pupils.......
macham watching “advertisement” as only hears all the good things, same goes for other sch lah
(actually, we need not to go as my niece is in RGS, so more or less know what to expect in RGS)
then followed by Questions and Answers session…..…also not many questions raised.
