Yes, like the rest said, bring your spares if you have. What if the e-dictionary and calculator suddenly malfunction during the exam?
How?
Both look well-powered though. But can never know
If not, just ask your child to raise his/her hand and tell the invigilator - school will usually have spares as well. -

the marking on the calculator wears off fast. can use a permanent marker to outline the numbers. -
Divha:
Hi Divha,Hi everyone,
I thought I had posted in different forum. Just to get little bit of relief from any of you....
Would like to share my thought and not sure how to overcome this. Until P6 prelim this year my son got 90 and above for Maths. In prelims, he got only 82. After that, he started to lament, he is not that good enough, not prepared well this and that.
Daily instead of preparing for PSLE, now I'm drilling for his positive attitude, mental strength to face challenge, motivating well enough to face the questions in the final exam.
Really, I find very tough these days an d don't know how to boost his will power ??
Thanks a lot.
Just for sharing. This reminds me of my dd when she took her PSLE in 2012. Same as your son, she used to score A* or high A for her Maths. Thus, she got higher expectation for her Maths than other subjects. However, her Maths marks suddenly dropped to 76 for her Prelim in P6 just because she spent too much time on one question and rushed through the rest of the questions. Thus, making a lot of careless mistakes. However, I told her that this is blessing in disguise as at least, she learnt that it was better to let go of one question she did not know than sacrificed majority of the questions that she knew. I think that the higher expectation they have on that subject, the more stress they put on themselves to do well resulting in adverse effect. For instance, she had never scored an A* for her English since P5, thus she did not place much hope for an A* for English. However, in the end, she got an A* for English but just an A for Maths for her PSLE. Tell your son that prelim result is not reflective of PSLE result. I think what your son needs to do now is just to relax himself. Everything will turn out well. -

Surprised to know that school will usually have spares. Nothing mentioned so far from school. Thanks for sharing the info.

The school may not have many spares, and may prefer that each child takes his own precautions. -

don’t rely on the school to have spares. your child is sitting for a major exam and the last thing any parent wants is for the child to get flustered when the e-dictionary or calculator doesn’t work. don’t forget the invigilator is from another school.
