Hi hng, had booked my accomodation via airbnb for my Kansai trip in Nov. My friends had ever booked the Osaka guesthouse via airbnb and have a good feedback on the safety and cleanliness.

Yes, nearby Shinjuku MRT is the best.

            We have 5 adult & 4 kids.
May I know what the difference staying at their apartment via hotel?
            Thanks.

Not sure why a lot of people like to stay Shinjuku... Dangerous at night as well.

I am just taking an example from Airbnb.

In your case, hotel might not be a good choice for you.
The main difference would be that if you stay in a Airbnb, it`s just like you are staying at somebody`s house, they might or might not be in the apartment.

If you stay in Ueno (north east area of Tokyo), it might be cheaper for you. It takes about 30 mins to reach Shinjuku.

What is a good area to base in Tokyo that is close to good food and shopping and easy to get around (plus to and from airport)?

For Narita Airport, would be Ueno, Asakusa, Akihabara, Tokyo station

For Haneda Airport, Shinagawa or Shinjuku

                    Hi,

Will be visiting Tokyo with kids in the last week of Nov 2015. Itinerary include Disneyland, Hakone and Tokyo city area.
Would like some advice on clothing as I saw many Heat Tech items at Uniqlo.
Is it warm enough to wear the Heat Tech innerwear, a fleece sweater and a jacket with fleece lining?
                    Thanks.

The weather will be about 17 degrees. So i guess the Heat Tech innerwear and a jacket will do.
Sweater just bring along. Cos some children will be a bit sensitive to cold.
