Anyone can advise if specializing or specialising is correct? Does anyone knows if PSLE accept both British and American spelling?

In reply to pashio636, it would be preferable if you put British spelling, but if you put American spelling and your entire paper is also written in America spelling, then it should be fine (but because teachers mark by section and not by script, it may cause some complications if you write in American spelling).

For the leakage of the tap question, shouldn’t it be ‘The pipe is leaking(,) resulting in a wastage of water.’

Can also be "The tap is leaking, resulting in water being wasted."

I have been in the educational sector in Singapore for over twenty years. I have met few Singaporean teachers or students who can write purely in British spelling or purely in American spelling: this may be a feature or a fault of multi-cultural Singapore, depending upon your point of view.

Consistency is important. But it should be noted that American English differs from British English not only in spelling but also in vocabulary and grammar. Many people stress consistency of spelling but then interweave vocabulary and grammar from the other variant.

In any case, the dichotomy is not between British and American spelling: MOE's requirement is for internationally-acceptable English. But to be on the safe side: Keep strictly to British Standard English.

Oral and Listening - on average shouldnt be problems across the board

Paper 1 - in my opinion I cant see any benefit of having such picture composition and force this year PSLE candidate to become "a guinea pig" which I though is very bad ideas.

                  Paper 2 Booklet a
Grammar - Yes agree not sure why MOE encourage setting "tricky" question
                  Spelling - ok agree
                  Comprehension close - ok agree
Synthesis - fill in the blank is always tricky that I do not see the point how it benefit the children.
Comprehension - is tough provided everyone candidate in Singapore able to understand the long passage within 10 min ?
