I am not sure, but it should be fine. Except that in this case, you may have to add a comma between leaking and resulting.

Not necessary to add a comma but does no harm.

Personally, I think it is fine but I am not sure it will be acceptable to the PSLE examiners. The clause 'The tip is leaking' is the main clause; normally, main clauses are not reducible to noun phrases in S&T.

Here is my question. Assuming I went for a talk last year and didn't like the arrogance of the speaker, even up till today. Which of the two sentences below is correct?

I attended the talk by Mr Tan last year but didn't like his arrogance.

or

\"barely\" (like \"scarcely\", rarely\") is a near negative. By inserting \"barely\", the main clause has been negativised. Hence the question tag should be positive \"was\".
