But wouldn't the cool metal gain heat from the water droplets faster than the cool glass and become hotter and cause lesser water droplets to condense?

THats the reason so i wrote cold glass

but that way, the heat from the water vapour will not be lost to the plate quickly

Relax, worrying is no use now. I heard most schools and teachers tend to scare students by giving difficult question papers, but i am not from that school so do not quote me on that
