Question: what are the rules for school shoes for Yr 5/6? How much colour, what type of shoes, etc? My daughter needs new shoes soon, and I thought I'd just check as she will be wearing them into next year. Thanks!

Quite a lot of non white allowed

Can someone tell me what the rules actually say? Is there a specified min. percentage of white? Thanks!

These days they are more relaxed with colors, as long as not outlandish or too bizarre

Grey, blue, black … are ok

Oh, so no minimum proportion of white? That's good - it will make it easier to look for shoes. It's always such a headache looking for something that fits all the requirements AND has enough white to satisfy school rules!

I do remember there was something said about \"at least 70% white\".. but when I look around in the school, seems that nobody follows! šŸ™‚

They are more tolerant. Real time feedback. Stand at bus stop and observe

Can be 70% white or 70% black. The other 30% can be ANY colour.
Standing at the bus stop to observe may not be a very accurate reflection of the school rule. As mentioned earlier, the school is quite lax when it comes to shoes. Students are known to wear the RIGHT clothes and shoes ONLY on spot check days, which they know when anyway.

Thanks for the extra info. So 70% of either black or white? My daughter likes to play safe and stick within the rules as far as possible.

I'll tell my daughter! In this respect, she's much like me - conservative!

According to my girl, there is no limitation on the shoes at jc. U can wear any shoes in any colours for your convenience. Not like secondary school (Rgs ), the shoes has the limitations on white. That is happiest thing for parents and students.
