Hi,Hi,
I am registering my child for P1 next year and am considering NC.
I would like to know in the past few years, what is the chances of getting the recommendation by SHHK? Eg, how many years member were you when you applied and got the recommendation.
Appreciate if anyone can share!
Thanks!
We joined for a full year b4 the P1 registration & gotten the recommendation. To play safe, you can increase ur chance by being active/be a volunteer in its activities. (Altho, some friends who joined at the same time as us but dint even go for orientation or any event, get their recommendations too.)
However, you will need to act fast as there r 2 cut-off dates in a year for SHHK memberships & I hope u hv not missed the latest 1! -

Hi,I am thinking to place my son in NCPS next year but v worried that he couldnt catch up & cope with the stress as we hv been too lax (din quite coach him in his work nor send him for any form of enrichment). Any suggestions for me when I can send him for preparation class to ease him into NCPS enviroment?
:?:
NCPS is not as scary as it rumoured to be.
DS din't go for any preparation or enrichment class & is doing fine in his work. In fact, it keeps him on his toes, as he needs to pay attention to the teachers in order to keep pace w the syllabus.
So don't worry too much unless there is any feedback from your DS' kindergarten teacher.
I find that instilling the correct attitude, behaviour & motivation towards studies is more crucial than specific subject coaching.
Anyway, there r paid classes conducted by external parties in NC compound during Dec hols for English & HYPY. Some kids I know went for 1 or both but still can't cope, as they are not strong readers &/or not interested in learning in the 1st place. The sch will help the weaker students w remedial classes.
So I guess it's up to the individuals wrt preparatory classes. -
Did anyone managed to check on whatโs the SA list (under the spelling list)?

There is no CA1 is Nan Chiau right.
My hubby was talking to other daddies when picking up my girl and was told that their kids have test. I was puzzled coz my girl told me dont have. -

No CA1 for NCPS. Only SAs. The children were given practice tests during the last term. There is no CA1 is Nan Chiau right.
