Oops..sorry for the mix up..
Hi EatNonStop,EatNonStop:
Hi djl
If I remember correctly, you had recommended a weblink Goodsports to get good deal Ski rentals. The rental price is attractive as compare with the rest but I am worried about the conditions of the ski gears/boots. Can you share your experience ? I saw from the online link they have a office in Niseko and Chitose airport. Did u pick up your gears from airport? or at your ski acommodation ? If got problem if ski halfway, anywhere I can do an exchange? I will be staying in Hirafu. Thanks
Oops that wasn't me. I checked back through this thread and it was dlye who had posted about Good Sports. (I haven't been to Niseko
. I've skied in Tomamu, Rusutsu and Karuizawa.) -

A mummy left http://kidsonboard.net/blog/photo-essay/karuizawa-prince-hotel-in-nagano/. It does seem easy to get to, and to navigate...
Yes, one of the Prince ski resorts in Nagano - Karuizawa Prince Ski resort - may have a bit of snow in early December. But that's still very early in the winter/snow season though. The snow doesn't really get going until mid-December or later. We've been to Karuizawa twice in mid-December and there was enough snow (natural and human-assisted) to ski on.
Karuizawa is about an hour by bullet train from Tokyo Station.
My kids are STILL having exams till next week - I can't wait for it all to be over and for the hols to start! Reading the travel forum on KSP has this calming effect on me

i took a lot of free guides for Tokyo this time round. Any parent interested to have 1 of this, pls pm me to collect. i have 10 of each guide.
photos of these guides will be posted later -
Can someone recommend a good & comfortable hotel to stay for 3 adults in Tokyo downtown? Budget abt $200-$300 per night. Preferably near main bus station & train station, close to eateries/supermarket & places to shop & explore. Thanks!

How do we ask locals for directions? Most cannot speak English right?

Hi Sparks, a mummy on our community travel site wrote about staying in a Citadines apartment (in Shinjuku) and here's her story (where they visited etc from their base - http://kidsonboard.net/blog/travel-mome ... n-in-tokyo. That place might be suitable for you. There's another dad who based his family in Odaiba. Personally, I've stayed at Oakwood midtown Tokyo, near Ronpoggi, it's nice but I am not sure if they do short term rentals. Hope these help! -
Thanks celeste! I have more or less zoom in on shinjuku or shibuya. Will check out your links.
