Ah, but as a boy destined to be a man, just be sure that he does score GOOD, even if he doesn't score perfect. Society is more demanding on QA with regards to men - we have to be successful, or no woman will wan... sorry, I mean, or we will not be considered \"man\" enough. The peer pressure on men is different than the kind on women....


Coming back to coolbaby's problem - I was wondering, coolbaby, does your boy read a lot? It will help. Language is best learned when used like this. Reading will assist spelling. One more thing - the problem won't be solved overnight, don't panic, be patient.

Yah... it's so true. My mum was just telling me that so what if my son inherits our house next time. If he doesn't do well enough in life, he might not even earn enough to pay for the running cost eg. utilities, property tax, etc...

That's a fine line to tread....different people has different views on what are essential. When it comes to setting up his toy city, my boy wants perfect workable traffic directional signs and road widths

ya. GOOD is good enough for us, cos we feel that society demand men to show leadership/charisma in addition to their good grades rather than just merely excellent grades.

Aiyo...off topic! My point is so long the kid is not having difficulty in reading (eg dyslexia), getting 9/10 or 8/10 sometimes is good enough.

Thanks to all who replied and also MMM for your advice.

Previously, I started with asking to write 5 times or 10 times or even more. But he still can't spell. I guess he just blindly copied and copied w/o memorising them.

Answering to sashimi question, in fact my son loves to read. Bedtime story is a MUST. He will whine if we say no to bedtime story cos it's too late. So we can only agree to read a short ones. For P1 standard, I think he read pretty well.
One of his favourite books is The Berenstain Bears series from the easier (only a few words in a page) till now with lots of words. I think he covered almost all. Can you believe that he doesn't know how to spell \"bear\"? After I revised with him, now he got it.
