Hi, any parents staying in CCK here? What time will the school bus pick up your child and what time he can reach home? On days where he has to stay back in school, how does he come home? Will the school bus bring him back? Can share what is the bus fee per month? Thanks!

You can get some info on the school bus services from the below link.
      http://www.nanyangpri.moe.edu.sg/downloads/school-services

For CCK area, please contact Jason Yap Kim Hong. Hp: 9455 7571.
School dismissal is 1.30pm. Time he can reach home will depend on whether he is the first or last to drop off. But should be no later than 2.30pm.

On days when he has to stay back, the school bus will bring him back. For my son, it was $4 per trip.

Regarding Exercise books and compulsory items in the book list.

Hi, any parents of P1/P2 NYPS students can share if all the items are needed in that list? Are the quantities pre-checked by the system the sufficient quantity?

          Is the calligraphy set needed?

          Thanks

            blesseddad,

Is your child going to P1 next yr?

For P1, optional items on list no need to buy, wont use in school, Chinese flash cards also no need to buy as school will not use, I bought and school said not using.

For Maths assessment books no need to buy…buy only if you intend to revise it with ur child.

Calligraphy set will be using in school…so need to buy. So far I bought last year enuff supplies. Only thing some items publisher not out yet so your child need to buy only when school re-opens.

Calligraphy set is compulsory. The child will be using it for P1 and P2. My DS did not use Maths text books at all. White elephant. The rest are ok.

                Thanks Sinny and lovinglife.

No need Math textbooks? So what do teachers use? Is it the same for the entire level or just that class?

They used maths activity book and school core & challenging worksheets. I am not sure about other class but my DS have different teacher for p1 and p2. Both didn't use. We don't use at home too.

                    blesseddad,

I am not sure about textbook, but I bought it. I think mine did use. But I suggest assessment books no need to buy. They do a lot of Maths worksheets in class.

Bought for few years but like lovinglife said, ours still in pristine condition, totally untouched - so save the $. Just get those in the compulsory list (the activity books are used in class). Basically, anything in the optional list is really optional - we’re not getting any of that for the next academic year.

My post from a year ago.... 😉

Are the Chinese character cards still on the must-buy list?
If they are, don't bother to buy them. Not used at all.

Don't bother wrapping the Maths workbooks. They normally
tear out the pages to work on, then hole-punched and filed.

For us, we are also not planning to buy the Maths textbooks
next year. Throughout DD's 5 years, and DS's 1 year in Nanyang,
the textbooks were not used at all.
