Hi Parents,


Was reading through this thread and as a newbie, hoping to be better informed and prepared. May I know when do we apply for PV at the school of choice? Will there be published info about PV application which we are supposed to keep a lookout for on the school of choice website or we have to personally enquire about applying for PV at the school itself? My elder girl born in 2012 and looking at St Nics.

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to KiasuParents. I've been trying to look for a thread on Nan hua primary Parent volunteer but don't seem to have any. I sent in my application for PV in Jul this year (my son is born 2011), but till date there's no reply. Asked the school on it and they said there's no timeline on when they will reply?? I'm worried if that means I'm not selected? Any experience to share pls? Thk you in advance

I have a question about PV. If one has done PV at a school for older child in the past, but unsuccessful during p2B registration, can s/he register the younger sibling to the same school under p2B without having to do PV again? Has anyone experienced the same?

i don't think so as the letter will be dated the year for older child.. u can approach the school for clearer answer

How early can I try to do PV? Is it common to try to do PV for various schools then shortlist from there? I am eyeing St Marg, SCGS or RVPS. Do I need to be staying with 1-2km to be considered for PV? If I can secure a PV spot then I buy a property around the area?

Best is to check with school, every school have their own requirement even the numbers of hours PV is different. The year to apply is basically the year your kid turn 4 but cut off dates differ from school to school.

The school I PV required a within 2km address on the PV Application firm

Dear Parents,


Just my 2 cents worth since I have done PV 2 years ago. At that time I visited a number of schools in the west area and spoke to representatives from the schools before doing PV.

There is a need to clock certain hours or days before completing your PV. In general, schools do not guarantee your child a place even after completing your PV.

Just to share with you about 1 incident, in which the Principal of a school mentioned to me about \"allocating\" specific places for some community members. As you can imagine, it was quite a turn off for me at that time. Subsequently, I approach another school for PV.
