Sorry...I don't stay in the area, and I'm not familiar with the schools there.

Perhaps you can check out the http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=461 thread?

You can also go to the Parents Networking thread and check out what other parents have to say about the respective schools.

      Good luck with your search!

Thanks! Now I know how to read the table. Well, I suppose I should forgo JWS or WG since I don't stand any chance at all. So, my next choice will be Shuqun Pri. Do you know if it is good? And I also need an alternative choice, any suggestion?

Hi, from the thread that I read - I believed your parents stay around JW Central 1 or Boon Lay area? Then maybe you can try to put Corporation Primary as your \"alternative\" or \"backup\" choice.

Just to share my experience - My gal is currently with Corporation Primary - P2 this year. I must say she is enjoying school and the teachers are all very committed towards the students. I am full-time working mum so have not much chance to go to the school for PV or the school activities but am very appreciated that I can communicate to the form teacher via e-mailing.

2 years ago, we were also among the lots that ballot for WG Primary. Needless to say the chance was 1 in 3 (355 fighting for only about 100 places; if I don't remember wrongly) 😉 . So if you are using your parents' address and thinking to enrol your child in WG or JWPS, then you have to be prepared for balloting 🙏

Yes, that is what I thought until some parents taught how to read the table. As I am using my parents address, thought GW is within 1 Km, I will be push to the next category and thus 1-2 Km and for GW, there is no chance at all.

Is Corporation Pri, the one next to the boys home? What do you think about Boon Lay garden pri? I saw a lot of remarks stating as a secondary choice but i think last yr there is a girl who top the PSLE. Not sure if there is a change in principal/teacher?

From the main road, you can see the Boys’ Home fencing and next to it is St Joseph’s Home and you have to make a left turn into Jurong West Street 23 then you be able to see Corporation Primary School. I have made the decision of Corporation Primary over Boon Lay Garden 2 years ago primarily for the reason it is a single session school - from 8.00am to 1.30pm Mon & Fri, Tues & Thurs till 3.00pm and Wed till 1.00pm. My child is the type that uses to wake up early so the school timing is good for her. I am not too sure about Boon Lay Garden; maybe other parents reading this thread can comment? 😎
Shuqun is good school but then last year there was ballating for it in phase 2c.. u can try for Lakeside primary in that side or else Xingnan or Juying.. not sure about the distance though :?
I am just thinking if I can register for SQ and monitor the situation. If P2B already taken up all the seat, can I withdraw from this sch and quickly register for another one? By doing so, it will give me more chance in another school. 🙏

Phase 2C registration lasts for 3 days. So yes, you can monitor the situation, and if you find that the odds are not in your favour, withdraw and register with another school on the last day.

Yes, that is what I am hoping for. So, we can withdraw quickly and register with another one right? BTW, when will the registration be? In June or July? I need to do statutory declaration to use my parents' add but heard that we can only do it during a specific period. I just wonder why they cannot let us declare earlier??? :?

Typically, both parents will be activated that day. One will station at the registered school, ready to withdraw, while the other will station at the other school to do registration. So once the withdrawal is completed, the 2nd parent can immediately proceed with the registration. You don't want to do the withdrawal, then travel to the other school to register. If you are doing this at the last moment, you might miss the registration completely and end up having to go to 2C supp.

Registration typically starts in July. 2C is near end of July. As for when you can make the statutory declaration, it's best to check with MOE directly.
