I did all the documentation myself in Singapore. But is difficult for them to come out from Philippines cos most of the officer there take \"coffee $$\"Hi shine_fs,
Is it b/c you already applied the work permit and bought airtix yourself? Did you need to pay anything to anyone in the Philippines? I think my agent's fee is on the high end. Although she's good (quite responsible) but not sure if it's worth that much since I found the maid myself. Do you mind PM me your agent's no.? Thanks!
If you really 1 your previous maid to come back, check other agent charges. -

Is not as easy as what we think....shine_fs:
I tried to get direct for my mum's ex-maid here from Philippines few years ago. I went on line and booked a ticket for her to fly here. Work permit already approved. But on the actual day, when she checked in the airport at Philippines, she was stop by the officer. At the end, she can't go on board. Then I had to seek for help from Singapore agent to bring her in Singapore. I remember ONLY paid for few hundreds dollars for her services.
But why couldn't she board the plane herself? She has an air ticket right. I am sure their own citizens are allowed to travel. -

I need a Blogspot account to post?hi eyktay,
Care to post your comments here? http://singaporemaidcomments.blogspot.com/
I find it's good resource - at least it scares me into ensuring I don't think about relying too much on maids.
I am so glad I shared!
A mum in this forum actually got this maid & contacted me, sigh.... -

If I remember correctly, they have a government body that protects Thr filipinas that go out of their country to worl. They will want to check that they have proper contract etc. Once they cleared them, they can then board the plane out.
I'm sorry, but to say 'protect', I wanna laugh very loud. I understand that they hire pp just to stamp on documents....dunno what protection they accord. -

Is not as easy as what we think....[/quote]er ya heard they have to pay the immigration officers kopi money and all that too haha.. Anyway settled already. If the maid wants to leave she can just insist to be transferred back to agency. Employers are unable to forcibly repatriate domestic workers who do not want to return to their home country if they can get relevant work permit etc.The maid can just call MOM and complain and mom will step in.Elysdeon:
