Hi, I’m also looking for transport from Bedok to HCI as DS is going HCI next year for Sec 1… does anyone have any idea how the boys can travel to HCI?


I went to enquire from staff room at HCI just now, and apparently some parents did try some school bus service, but the feedback was not positive… so the staff did not recommend it as the first option for travelling to HCI.

Normally during S1 registration, you could access the school bus operator contact number on that day. However, it is a private school bus service. There will be plenty of Hwa Chong boys on S1 registration to assist you.

So far, we have had no problem with the private school bus operator.

Charges are based on distance. Alternatively, you can take bus to Eunos mrt or any nearest EW line station and transfer at Bugis for direct transfer to HCI. The DL2 to HCI will be open next month.

Can any parents here also advise if the classrooms are air-conditioned? We happened to go for site visit yesterday and noticed that the military planes are frequently flying around the area with noise, so was wondering if these sounds would interfere with the classes. DS mentioned that when he went for Maths Olympiad at HCI this year, the classrooms they hosted the Olympiad were air-conditioned. So just wanting to verify here… appreciate advice. thanks.

The classrooms are not air conditioned for Sec 1-2 students. From Sec 3 onwards, all classrooms are air conditioned. Just to add on, there aren't many military planes flying around the area, so noise shouldn't be an issue (I study in a non air conditioned classroom)

Yes, HCI is not along any flight path of military planes or near any air base, in fact, when my DS stay at the hostel as part of the IP program, he was saying he enjoyed the serenity and peaceful environment of the school.

When we first visited the school many years ago after the psle, we were attracted by the vastness (and hilly) and peacefulness of the environment....give us a resort type of feeling...of course, after studying there, my DS is complaining about walking long distance, up n down to canteen, labs or to main road....anyway, good exercise for him.

Yes, TKK mrt station is just at the door step of HCI.

Does HCI offer third language in campus? Any idea if we opted in but decided to drop later, is it possible?
