      Student email is not ready. Check 1st slide of the instructions next week. Will be updated when ready.

      Checked with a student when I went to buy uniform, she say most of them use MacBook Pro 13".

        This is what I have read. MacBook Air resolution is not as good as MacBook Pro. MacBook Pro uses Retina display while the Air does not.

        If students uses the laptop often, a high resolution screen will not be so tiring to the eyes. Viewing angle for the Pro is also much better.

        Just sharing.

          That's right. That is why the retina display would cost more. The macbook pro is definitely much better machine than the Air, in terms of display, ram and processor. If the Pro is within your budget, go with it.
          For me, I'm using a normal old Dell laptop with lower resolution for my work and I can spent hours staring at the screen. I feel the Air with the same resolution is adequate.

                  Just bought text books and uniforms from the school.

                  Bumped into another parents and we discussed about which MacBook to buy, 13\" Air or Pro.

                  He said the Air is good enough despite the lower screen resolution compared to the Pro. Moreover, he said students don't really need all the high specs offered by the Pro.

                  We went to talk to some Year 3 students and they are using the older version of the MacBook Pro, which is lower specs than the current Air. They said it is more than sufficient for them for whatever assignments they need to do.

                  I asked them whether they have any issues using their current older version of the Pro for multimedia purposes or projects and they said there are no issues.

                  Given that the Pro cost $500 more than the Air and is heavier, perhaps parents may want to re-evaluate which MacBook to purchase.

                  I initially want to buy the Pro but after talking to the students, I may change my mind.

                  Just for your info. :roll:

                      Thanks..

                      I kaypo abit and did a count of students email for the 2016 cohort using excel.
                      Total = 166 students

                      I wonder will they be accepting more students from the normal S1 posting?
