Read the earlier part of this thread. You should be able to find some parents with NHPS' parent support group that you may be able to exchange PMs with. -

hi irisnet ,
if u SAHM . , you can choose long hour duty , like children's day , sports day , big event in school , a least 4,5 hrs . 1) regular activities which needs PV help .eg ,buddy reading ,librarian duty ,canteen duty or help out in school excursion. 2) ad-hoc activities eg , during P1 registration ,excurision during school holiday , special school event lise sports day teacher's , children's day ,carnival day etc......Usually the school will have a cgannel of communcation to the PV group so when need.
you can try to find previous PV of the school to understand how the system works , also when you sign up for PV, talk to the person-in-charge to see if you can dig out more information about what kind of ' duties ' are thrown out to the PV group . or PM me
i understand that if you have IT background or skills , it would be a advantage and the Principal is interested in school projects managing a project from A to Z ( includes funding if there's shortage ) eg , can be science project , aviary project or any kind of project .
Nan Hua Primary NOT affiliated to any association or clan.
Well that was from my experience .Hope this helps . :celebrate: -

My daughter will registrate at 2012,so i submited the application as volunteer for nanhua primary school, after 1 month it was rejected!so dispointed!
which school is better near my house?qifa primary school or clementi primary school?
it seems that the academic score of the first one is better than the later, but the later seems more popular?which one a? -
ruiruimum, NPHS is famous for being very stringent in their PV selection, a lot of ppl are rejected every year, so dont be disheartened.
And u are right, clementi pri indeed much more popular than qifa. Balloting is usually conducted in clementi pri for phase 2C if u stay out of 1km. -
thanks,Luanee!it seems very hard to select, qifa no need conducted balloting even in 2C,I can sure my daughter can enrol, but the score looks more better, for clemnti PS even need balloting ,but in recent 10 years no one can got above 275 in PLSE.
Coz there are only a few HDB near qifa, only those private houses, and near clmenti PS are all HDB, the application is more than qifa ,then it’s more popular, right? -
If u look at last year's stats, Clementi Pri has 270 total places, and out of this, 110 taken up in phase1. Whereas for Qifa which has 300 places, only 79 applied under phase 1. Why is this so? Phase 1 is for kids with siblings already in the school. Rightfully, this number should be more or less proportional to the school's population. :?
How did u compare these 2 school's results? I think Qifa had a top Indian student in year 2004. Is that how u conclude Qifa has better results than Clementi? And btw Clementi did have at least one student above 275 in year 2007. Whereas Qifa did so in 2004 and 2007. -
ya,u r right!clemti PS IN 2007got one above 270,while qifa got 2 in 2004 and 2007.i got from here:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/singapore-primary-schools-ranked-academic-excellence
Maybe 3 years later i will try to appy both two schools then select which one.
