Dear all, the average mainstream students will be placed from class 1B & upwards… high flyers is all at the last few classes… 1A & some 1B is fr the sports DSA students who scored average 240, but during my DS Y1 in 2013, there is a student with 210+ but now he is doing reasonable well.

PSLE score does not matter that much when u go to sec sch & there is a GEP boy who got retained in Y4.

the 1A class has a slightly diff exam papers compared to the rest & in Y1 they don’t sit for mid yr exams if I rem correctly. When this 1A boys go to 2A, they will need to score GPA >2.8 to continue to the IP track. Only a handful of them who get lower will go to the on-demand O level class. Agreed. Once the boys start their journey in RI, the PSLE T scores do not matter anymore. Nobody looks at your PSLE T score anymore. Everyone starts from a clean slate as there is no more distinction between GEP or non-GEP. The achievement attained (both academic and non academic) is up to the individual student.[/quote]

was told on consultation day 2 that geppers and ms will be split in yr 1 n 2. in year 3, they b allocated via subject combination.

anyone knows if 1st day of school is on 4th Jan? I understand some IP schools can start as late as 2nd week of jan. Orientation will start on 2nd day of sch, followed by camp and then investiture ?


was hoping to know if there are some parents talk arranged on 1st day so that I can 1st apply for leave to attend…

Fright night removed. Apparently due to a really bad scare years ago.


I’m not very sure as to whether day one is 4th or 5th Jan, but talks are never arranged so early on. Orientation is 6th to 8th and there will be a investiture on the night of the 8th.

Edit for clarity: one talk on Registration day (this year) another after Orientation.

thanks RafflesianSnr. I am sure the year ones are looking fwd. just hoping that term 1 load will be manageable while they get used to the longer hrs plus additional subjects. once again, thanks for sharing
