I only have the info given by iFirefly earlier in this thread. She has a son in RI, I presume. My daughter also hasn't been officially told when to report to RI, which is why I asked! I guess there will be a notification from RI at some point? I think this is something that fell between the cracks - both RGS and RI are probably assuming that the other school told the girls! On the Stamford portal, it says the Yr6 begins on 11 Jan, and Y5 on 29 Jan. But the 29 Jan date is for JAE students. No mention of when the Yr5's from RI/RGS begin, unless we assume it's the same as the Yr6's.

I haven't raked up enough energy to call either school yet though I might one of these days. If I do, I'll post the answer here.

a) may i know if it is necessary to buy all textbooks from the booklist? I can imagine the chaos on the 23rd Dec , so if not need all textbooks, i will then take it easy.


b) Any advice as to what is considered necessary? ( other than school uniform/badge/tie, PE tee & shorts).

c) heard that there will be a camp as well? Do the boys sleep in tents or in the boarding facilities?

d) where would be a good place to send the kid for Maths and science tuition since it is IP ?

a) Math and Science books are rarely used by teachers so no hurry to get them. The school’s notes and materials are more than enough anyway. Do get the English book though, that’s pretty important. As a matter of fact, there’s no need to buy the badge or tie. A set will be given after the camp.


b) Yes there will be a camp. They’ll sleep in the hall

c) Honestly there should be no need for tuition. Y1-2 Math and Science is not difficult with consistent effort. I don’t have any to recommend.

c) i c...will have to let DS know that he has to rely on himself and if anything not clear/dont understand look for the teachers to clarify
