        UBKmom:
DHS this year COP is pretty high at 258...comparable to NJC, RI and HCI....well done...no wonder they are among the top 5 JC in Singapore. However, comparing to RV...it COP has been at the lowest rung for quite few years now...is it because of it location or other reason?

Seem like the new IP JC will have a tough time catching up with the top 5 if their COP dont improve. There is definitely a co-relationship between the COP and A Level performance.
It is partly due to the school has cut down the vacancy from 400 to 360 for this cohort, that's what the prinicipal mentioned during the open house and 50% had been taken up by DSA.

In general, the lesser the vacancies left after allocation through DSA or affiliation applications or both, the higher the COP under the PSLE S1 phase.

It is disappointing that there is only one school vendor selling the PE attire and has not stocked enough for the yr 1 in take. It really made the parents waste lots of time try to chase after the shirt or shorts.

Btw... 50% of the avail vacancies taken up by DSA has been On- going for all these years, not Only for this yr...
Nothing new... same goes for the other \"old IP schools\"...

Quote fr MOE website ...published in yr 2005 ...

The 7 IP schools admitted up to 50% of their 2005 Secondary 1 students through the Direct School Admission Exercise, before the central posting exercise (para 3a). The AS and IS adopted school-based admission criteria for their 2005 Secondary 1 discretionary places.

Can check what to bring for first day of school? ie all book "A" text books or just orientation with a proper timetable to be given out later (so no need to pack so heavy bag on first day)?

It's Orientation so just notebook and pen, money for lunch and water bottle. Wear the proper uniform with tie. DHS seldom uses textbooks, my dd has said. Time table will be given later. Welcome to Dunman High family
