Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Past years, for TNS phase 2C balloting is always for with 1km.
qms’ suggestion is quite sound. You should take qms’s advice. -
Thank you Masters! I shall report on the Newbie thread shortly.

qms:
Hi qms, thanks for your suggestion. Regarding the recommendation letter from SHHK, do you know when they will give the recommendation? Is it after Phase 2A and before 2B? or is it given before Phase 2A?
Hi!
You should apply with SAJS in Phase 2A, and gauge your chance with Tao Nan in Phase 2C. If you do get the recommendation from SHHK, you can withdraw from SAJS, and apply with Tao Nan in Phase 2B. If you do not get the recommendation letter from SHHK, you will have to decide, at Phase 2C, whether you want to try your luck at Tao Nan, or stay put at SAJS.
Thanks! -

after Phase 2A just before Phase 2B.

I am an old girl of SCGS and my son is in Henry Park. Where should I register my girl?
If you were in my position, what are the considerations you will look into to decide on the school. :?
Both are very good schools. -

your position is actually very easy to decide - many parents will love to be in your shoes.I am an old girl of SCGS and my son is in Henry Park. Where should I register my girl?

Both are very good schools.
consider 2 things (in whichever order is your priority); 1. logistics (fetching) 2. affiliation 3. whether you prefer girls or co-ed school -
Since you consider both to be very good schools, then why not make things easy and just let your DD join her brother at Henry Park?

Hi,
Can anyone advise if distance is really important in selecting a Pri school? I’m an old school girl of Tao Nan but I’m staying in Pasir Ris. No plans to move house so if I register my daughter into Tao Nan, she will need to travel from Pasir Ris to Marine Parade every day. Is this advisable? or better for me to register her in a Pri Sch in Pasir Ris itself?
Thanks! -
