Hi got few questions on MacBook


1. School flyers only highlight MacBook Air from either Newstead or Sapura - any advice which vendor is better?

2. MacBook Pro is not mentioned - is it because it is discouraged and why?

3. The pricing is higher than outside eg Challenger - any reason?

1. Previously only Sapura available. Didn't know Newstead is in educational MAC too. Newstead is newly added for the first time.
2. MacBook Air is lighter, longer battery life and good enough for school work. You can check with the vendor to get a quote for MBP if you want.
He didn't want MBP due to weight (~200g more than MBA). His MBA was customized to 8gb ram via Sapura.
3. If you get from outside like challenger or Apple Store educational price, you will still need to pay the vendor (was $190 previously) for installation, network configuration to school requirement and usage of school campus support. So work out to almost same price from school vendor.

hi, has anyone bought the MBA from either sapura or newsted yet? does it come preloaded with all the essentials? i was thinking of letting my son use my MBP instead but the school does not provide any info on where to get the configuration done. help?

Anyone knows when the class allocation be? I thought I heard we'll be sent sms abt it, but don't rem by when?

Yes Sms. My wife received it this morning. Allocation of class is it by merit? My son opt out higher Chinese is it that all no higher Chinese is allocated in same class?

My son posted to SEC 1I. He is taking higher Chinese. My friend son posted to Sec 1B also taking HCl but he is affiliation.

My Son is posted to 1F (non affiliated), n taking higher Chinese.


He's not strong in Chinese, n didn't take HCL in primary too... But he don't mind giving it a try for now
