Wonder how many apply to transfer in to St Nic Primary and got kicked out at P6. Personally I know of one friend who got kick out of St Nic due to not meeting the affiliation point many years back.

Yes, some of my friends' daughters fail to meet 230, some got 20x, 21x, 22x, cannot go back to St Nick

Some tried to appeal to P to allow them go back st nick secondary, but appeal failed.

230 is also low, since official COP is 25x. (253 for \"O\" level, psle 2015 batch)
Catholic high boys affliction COP is already 240
They will try to close up the gap between the girls 230 vs the boys 240.
10 points difference : is far
2017 psle batch (born 2005) : will revise 230


Anyway, soon MOE will disallow primary school affiliation.

Since when was there any announcement that affiliation will be disallowed ? Do you know and understand the history of affiliation ?

Since you (non-affliated pupil) are starting Secondary 1 journey tomorrow (4 Jan 2016), do go & read up what are St Nick school vision, school motto, school values.

From the above 2 posts, I gathered that some parents are very protective of their kids who are from sngs affiliation.

I seriously do not think there is any difference between sch girls of any schs. By posting these, you are discriminating the girls. Morever, do not forget that many non-affiliated pupils have helped your kids to bring up the high COP which affiliated pupils alone won't be able to achieve.

And what's so special about the value and spirit? I saw some sngs girls with coloured hair and talking loudly in mrt. No difference from any schs or neighbourhood schs' girls.

Worst of all, my ds complained that some ex-sngs girls who are now in his JC are so 'poisoned' by their former sch culture. They are still acting so uptight and expect camaraderie and total cohesiveness in the class which is impossible, based on the different personalities, genders, background, etc among pupils. They even complained to the FT for petty matters. My ds said none of the girls from the other all-girls-sec-schs behaved as childish as them.
Some sngs girls really need to learn to conform, adapt and blend into different environments, especially after spending 10 years in single-gender schs.

I do not think you understand. I go into SNGS thru affilation. It was more of luck and all and it was the vp who gave me the chance if I am not wrong. When we go to a school, we shld always learn its values and all. That's the right way when studying in a school.

I am not referring to you alone. It's the way these parents command pupils whom they think aren't affiliated pupils. Of course every school will inculcate moral values to every pri and sec sch pupil during civics lessons and they shall learn. It's not as if only sngs girls have good moral value and spirit and non-affiliated pupils have none.

And dear girl, I hope you do not have to agree with anyone just because she is a parent or student of sngs and you think that is the 'spirit'. Support what is right and correct what is wrong should be the way if you want your school to be one that is well-respected by the public.

I heard if you get above like 250-255, its likely you will be placed in the stretch classes, going by cop and number of class, does this mean Only about 2 classes are people who are not from the primary section? I am aware that there are people from the primary section that do good, and there are 2 o level stretch classes, and since those who are not from the primary section usually need about 250 to get in, doesn't this mean most of those not from the primary section are in the stretch classes, which there is only 2?'


After a parent from sngs knew that your appeal was successful, she posted this:
'She is too much aggressive at her young stage. She appealed in and she still wants to get in the best class in Sngs. PSLE did not present your future. If u come from the neighborhood school, u need put a lot of effort to adapt to Sngs sec school life. Of course, everybody from sec 1 will fall during the semester 1. She is too much proud of herself. She should learn Sngs spirits during sec study.'

If you do not get what is wrong, please ask your civics and moral education teacher in class for an explanation, which I am sure will be more convincing to you.
