Bus management was super chaotic today, one student reached home around 4pm, another was sent to a wrong student care! Do remind your child to be extra vigilant!

                Hi

My son is in 2 Optimism and a group of fellow parents from the class are very concerned about the lack of healthy food choices and long queues at the school canteen stalls. Currently there are only 2 stalls and the school has been facing difficulty getting stallholders. We learnt about Whizzmeal programme operating in another new school and made some enquiries. They require a minimum of 50 students to start the programme thus we are collating the details of parents who are interested before we approach the school. An existing stallholder has also expressed her willingness to consider this programme. For more details, please visit http://www.whizmeal.com/Main/Home.aspx and https://www.facebook.com/Whizmeal/?fref=ts. Should you be keen, please give us your details in the google form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1p3uLyxmLEdmYAPOc3nlWMpUbDMgvyekge1sVmyst9hI/viewform

Hi all, we're a group of P2 Parents kakis(we usu Watapps) and I happen to came across this article abt \"Whizmeal Program\" in STimes last year ...

                  Their website = http://www.whizmeal.com/Main/Home.aspx
                  Their FB = https://www.facebook.com/Whizmeal/?fref=ts

Reason for this post is :- Last year May another Mamie & I emailed the school rgd the insufficient no. of food stalls/ variety of the food(as our kids usu eat either siew mai, chee cheong fun, fishball noodles, chui kwee etc ... which hve not much nutrients) ... n subsequently we're quite happy to have a sushi stall n pancake stall ... Too bad, that 2 new stalls closed down since 3Q last year left with 2 pathetic stalls only. This \"pushes\" me to kick start with this Whizmeal Program again.

Thus I wrote in to Whizmeal(which the lady I/C was very responsive n call me after few mins !!) and said she'll email me their slides to let (us, my group) for a better understanding of how they work(she's NOT caterers but she came from canteen operators background and they'll plan & teach the stall owners[to ease their stress in order to cope w large recess crowds, to reduce food wastage[plans ahead] as well as kids can eat nutrition food - All win-win situation) ...

I asked her why started with this biz; she mentioned they used to sell deep fried stuff to kids(easy to cook n sure have demands among the kids) BUT after seeing lil kids became \"big fat kids\"(unhealthy n became more laze) ... so she withdrawn her canteen operations n started this prog ... Btw, she's also a Mother too !!

She told me DPM Thaman recmd them to MOE rgd this prog, but MOE has \"no control\" of the school's operations(only P have the ultimate say). Thus need at least some \"ki chiu\" to kick start this in order to liaise w the P. For only $15/year to get the \"membership\" to be in this \"Pre-order\" Prog. She told me their success story are :- Punggol Green, NewTown, Yuhua, West Spring etc. N she told me the meals will be ard $1-$1.50(which is the same as most of the schools, so shdn't be a prob in terms of our budget)

She briefly mentioned that they need at least 50 parents' support(which I tik we can make it !!). As our kakis group shd have at least 10 to 20 parents interested.

Btw is there any \"Canteen Committee Members/Welfare Committee\" in ALPS who we can look for ?!?

Meanwhile, this post is to create awareness and hope to see a show of hands who r interested in this program. Pls use the Google form tat Mico have created earlier[just above my post] to show U r interested. TIA !!!

Hi Yorkie, Wat I knw from her is :-

she told me the meals will be ard $1-$1.50(which is the same as most of the schools, so shdn’t be a prob in terms of our budget) … If u r interested can u fill-up the form tat Mico created earlier(jus above my original post). Those pics on the website looks good! Currently there are only two stalls running, one selling commercially prepared food plus sandwiches and the other a Malay stall. The school must bring in more vendors in order to implement this.
