HSBC also have for 7 mths, min $30k with interest rate of 1.65%/1.7%. Free abalone worth $40 at branch road show for min $50k deposit and more with higher dep.

So far, HSBC and SCB (only?) have 7mths FD? Shorter tenure should be better right if we expect interest rate to go up?

Yes, shorter tenure to catch the rising interest rate trend.

Am thinking of building a bond ladder...

Jan 2016 yield was 2.58% and Feb 2016 may be lower [/quote]

Yup my colleague has built a bond ladder. He say not bad returns to him.

Built one for my mum (her money), at least every month she has a few hundred dollars extra pocket money. I am like the RM at home, I propose and if they agree I bring them to the bank to put FD and what nots. My treat is usually a tea or kopi session on the day they collect their interest. 😆
But I am looking at shorter tenure nowadays.
