To be politically correct the school must maintain that the class allocation in year one is random. But that \"randomness\" some how got the allocation appear to look like sifting by merit.


Everyone is equal. Some are more equal, as people used to say.

But at year one everyone starts from equal footing at the same starting line. So it should not matter anymore as long as one puts in his or her best. What better time than this to start afresh from a clean slate. By next week PSLE is forgotten and nobody cares about the score anymore. Move on and work hard.

It is not equal if you look at the time table. To get into C,D,F&J, you MUST take HCL. Thus no matter what, it is not completely random.

Btw, how does FCE(Home Economics/Food&Consumer Education) and Literature(Chinese) work? I didn't see FCE and Chinese Literature on any of the timetables for Sec 1s, unless I am reading it wrong.

Precisely. I was wondering how could a girl with coloured hair blatantly walking around in school without any of the teachers or councilors noticing it. It just shows what lengths a person can go to to plant misinformation on a particular school if she does not like it

I wanted to drop this matter but since you are so persistent, I shall write an email to the principal to conduct an investigation. Just don't forget to leave a note in this forum to clear my name when the principal announced her findings to her students.

TBH, after what you wrote in your pm, I am not exactly angry towards you, but I doubt the principal will believe you since you do not have the pic where the badge and all can be seen. So of course it is argue-able that she was wearing something which was similar to the school uniform but not, or something around those lines. I doubt the parent wld not argue using these points or similar. I also do not think that the principal will announce it to us, there just isn't a need to embarress the child, and it may also be argue-able that it is a pure coincidence, since by how the sch works, I doubt the name will be announced, though it may be. And even then, someone may still argue that u merely just copied the same name. There are so many loopholes to the method u r using to clear your name, it probably won't work out right.

Ya, I am just arguing that it cannot be completely random if this is the case. Morever, the scholars(3) are in Faith and Justice, I doubt they wld only be split into 2 class if it was completely random, chances are all 3 of them wld be in diff class.

Is it ok if I treat this as a place to rant about some stuff, cus I am srsly annoyed about this. Yesterday I made a friend, we were in the same OG grp but end of that day we found out we were in diff class. Today I made friends with another person, end of today we found out the system had prob and she is in another class. I feel that this can be greatly improved, like sorting out class before school started and making sure everything is correct. Argh, I'm not gonna get a friend at this rate.

Hi Still Thinking, how do u know the scholars are in faith and justice? Thought the best classes are D and F class, so there are 3 classes of best class?

I think the school wants the girls to make friends, regardless of class, which is why the OGs are not separated by class. My DD has friends from different classes, even from different levels. Ditto for my other DD who is in another school. And they hang out with these friends, whether they are in the same class or not.

As for the HCL issue, if I remember correctly, all the girls had to fill up a form indicating if they are taking HCL. I believe this impacts class allocation (ie HCL girls in a class and CL girls in a class, makes more sense logistically?).

How am I persistent ? This is the first time I am commenting on your post.

As to clearing your name, your are responsible yourself for doing so since you started the allegation. Please don't depend on others to clear the mess you have created for yourself.

I will be waiting to hear how the principal respond to your \"email\". Please do keep us updated.
