Passed by Bukit Timah Road at 6.53am (stretch from the neighborhood police post to The Nexus) - traffic smooth, likely due to HC students not reporting at school yet. U turn lanes along Bukit Timah Road are lined with cars, possibly going to RGPS.
Dunearn Road road - filled with cars. -
I think rgps now start at 7.40 am to 1,40pm previously their gates will close at 7.20am whn they started at 7.30am. Now that the sch is one session, there will definitely be an increase of at least 450 plus students from P1 n P2 but normally there wont be a jam b4 or by 6.45am but after that the traffic builds up at dunearn. Cant help it, the kids are young and parents are kancheong and kiasu, they cant just drop the kiddies at Hwa Chong bus stop unlike the older primary kids. Other thn school bus, most rgps girls r driven.
Good thing that NJ start a week later, at least parents frm rgps should have a rough indication on what time to start out by now but I dnt think traffic condition will improve very much.
Im glad I don’t hv to see this jam for a while cos dd is checking straight into boarding on the 10th. after that I will continue to drop dd at hwa chong bus stop. -
Anyone heard about the NJC IREP - International Research Exchange Program? Like, is it selected by teachers, academic performance, or self application? And for students from which level (JH3? JH4? SH1?) The program is open to how much students? Any pre-requisites? The website has a list of schools from 6 different countries, can the students choose which one to go? How long is the program? Sorry for the whole list of questions!
Thanks! -

I checked out NJC website, IREP is not a new programme. In fact my elder boy participated in the programme in his JH3 (year 2012).
I do not know how the selection was done.
In the school page, there is an email address of a teacher in charge. Maybe you like to write to the teacher to find out more details.
There was at least two teams working on different research. That year, the teams were sent to two different countries. I do not think it was up to the teams to choose which country/ institution to go to.
My elder boy went to KAIST in Korea in November, went to present the team research findings and did a home stay during the visit. Think the trip was 2 weeks?
Prior to going to Korea, we hosted 2 Koreans (boys) from KAIST in my in-laws' place due to insufficient NJC boys in the team. There were more KAIST boys and it was inconvenient to have the NJC girls to host the Korean boys. -

My boy told me the traffic looked jammed this morning. So he took the train and alighted at TKK station, then took a bus to alight opposite NJC side gate.
He saw some JH students alighting at 6th Avenue station.
How was the traffic flow from 6th Avenue station to the bus stop outside NJCS side gate? -
I haven't been around and just came back to look see look see ... good to see people like Jeniffer still active here ... :salute:
