upcoming lunar new year is year of monkey, so other animals cant be used [/quote]My younger daughter has asked me not to put away the Christmas tree as she wants to make CNY decorations from last year's hongbao packets and hang them on the tree! The plan is to take down the obviously Christmas-y ones but leave the tinsel and lights. I am a bit dubious about this idea, but I'll wait and see how it goes. After that - Easter? Midsummer? N. Day? Mid-autumn?... Maybe the tree will become a permanent fixture in my living room!

Prep for CNY already started before xmas in 2015.

the sun is rather hot today…quickly changed the curtains for one room.


just tidied kids’ cupboards for clothes they have outgrown. there are some filipino nurses in the nursing home which grandmother is staying…their kids’ ages are about the same as mine. i don’t give the worn out ones though. suddenly i am in the cny mood.
