Pardon me for being non-specific. I am referring to Maybank's FDs.[/quote]Yes...I was refering to ordinary saving account interest rate. I just think 0.05%pa is ridiculous. This maybank offer seems too good. Is a saving account interest ranging from 1.3-1.5% per annum but with no fix time like FD.

Sing finance 1 year is 1.8% plus a can of abalone, 2 years is 2% plus a can of abalone . Good deal and the bank was packed!

My hubby place at HSBC last Fri, 1 yr 1.8%. Got one can of abalone too.
ANZ giving 1.88% for 10 mths depo, but min is $150k :sad:

Standard Chartered Bank’s promotion has been extended till end of Jan 2016. So far, the bank is flexible in providing higher rates. Have friends getting 2.1% pa for $40K for 2 years and 2% pa for $200K for a year.

I think so. I had to go three times in order to place my FD as it was very crowded. I understand if you have higher amount and if also open their bonus saver account, you can be offered higher than 2.1%. In other words, the bank published rates are flexible and negotiable.
