Comparison is a no-no…every child is different.

With some experience having gone through once with older one, I try not to repeat mistakes made. More hands-on this time and working closely with the tutors to be back up on the other 6 days when there is no tuition.

Yes. Agree the homework is a lot and my DS1 is having 4 supplementary class per week (for all the 4 subjects)!! Weekend are spent clearing school work too. Trying hard to even squeeze some time for self revision :stupid:

Same problem with DD. Also, there is CCA competition in March, two days a week go towards CCA. She is too exhausted to do any more than homework after. :slapshead:

One of the things you can do (in primary school only) is pre-empt the subject teachers about tournament and CCA and explain to them that DC may not be able to complete all the hw during this period and addd that you are committed to ensuring that he/she will catch up at the earlier possible time.
Of course, this totally does not work for secondary school...

During tourney season there is very little time for our P6s. I watch over my DS2 like a hawk to help to make sure that he focuses on getting his school work done. Other work like assessment books during this time is kept to nil or a bare minimum. And sometimes tuition also has to take a back seat. Sleep and rest are paramount.

Agree with you. I guess it's also a fine line between tourney and lessons if planning to DSA. This is my major problem. The tourney is good exposure at the risk of losing out to the revision for PSLE. All I can do right now is go day-by-day or max per week plan. No chance to make a full revision plan. As you say, I will watch like a hawk

2 subjects per supp lesson...so she has to stay back 2x a week.
Homework starting from yesterday (week 3) is crazy. So hard to squeeze in time to revise and prepare for ca1. Have asked tutors to reduce homework or else it's so depressing to be doing work all the time. It's only January...how to prevent burnt out before PSLE?

I heard from my friend that t-score will be scrap eventually and she told me it start from our batch, is that true?

If scrape t score, how to determine aggregate to enter secondary school?

If moe wants to have less focus on academic on PSLE, first they can look into giving less homework and do so asap.
