Changing the subject - for parents of RGS girls who just entered RI this year. Do ask your girls to check the CCA records for RD that got transferred to RI. My daughter has found that quite a few things got left off her record. We don't know if it's stuff that isn't considered, or whether it's an oversight. Not the main CCA things, but the extra odds and ends like taking part in optional competitions etc. I believe the last day to update the records is tomorrow.

Even the boys have missing records.

Some are not relevant for RD purposes. If all were to be recorded there isn't enough space. Some of them are really involved in many things as they try to achieve distinctions in all five areas. But they are also doing well in acad studies as they fulfill the criteria for cognitive as well.

Oh well, I told her to submit the lot and they can ignore those they don't want. It's not very clear what counts (at least not to us!). There is 1 item that was listed under Yr2, but not Yr3-4. Too complicated for me!

How is the chemistry Olympiad competition ? What are the chances to get the medal for those competition ?

Yah good question. Both the Singapore Physics and Biology Olympiads 2015 results were released in the past week but the chemistry one is still not. I think it should be v v soon.

Generally speaking, will the boys’ results be expected to dip going from Year 1 to Year 2, as the volume of work increases?

There are 2, I believe - the Singapore one and the International one. All I know is that there are always students from RI getting medals, but no idea how many try for them, and what the rate of success is.

I'm not sure if you are referring to the SJChO (Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad) or the International Chemistry Olympiad.
