Hotel Booking Websites
-
Better to check with the actual hotel’s website after checking the hotel aggregator website.
Reason being booking via aggregator / agent website are usually more restrictive in terms of changes
Hotel website usually less restrictive for the same price -
Usually I will scan through the booking.com…filter then check from the hotel website before ‘talking’ to them via email.
-
Might want to reconsider staying at One Farrer Hotel & Spa though.

differences :-
direct booking with hotel will earn loyalty points with the hotel program if you are member, agents won't allow
in case of changes in requirements or travel dates, hotel direct booking will accommodate changes, but agents' discounted rates usually won't allow changes
hotel usually upgrade you to better rooms when available if you book direct; agents' rate will get you the bottom/worst room.
as a matter of policy, hotels will firstly allocate the worst room out in any day, leaving the best room to the last - for walk in customers (high rates) and for loyalty customers
these are for exactly same room rates -
I always prefer to book directly with the hotels’ websites.
-
These days most hotels provide lowest rates guarantee.
After booking, if you find any cheaper rate online for the same room type, the hotel will either match it and/or give you one nite free -
When I check on the hotel’s website, it is usually higher. That’s why we always opt for 3rd party website booking.

For big families travelling together, you may want to try airbnb apartments rather than book many hotel rooms individually.
There’s now a special promotion - $56SGD off first booking for new airbnb customers. If interested, pls PM me for the referral code. No expiry date, no gimmicks. -
I've always used http://www.tripadvisor.com!
