All About Choosing Piano Schools And Teachers

I think anyone who is serious about grade 8s and Diplomas will probably find a teacher who is more established. Perhaps the only reasons why students may settle for lesser qualified teachers would be because of cost issue.I agree on huaywenandkenneth especially about fresh Grade 8s teaching Grade 8s, as well as, fresh Dip holders teaching Diploma immediately. To me I think they would be lacking for the student.
Also, a teacher who has only done Performance diplomas/degrees and decide to teach immediately, there are plenty of pedagogy books out there to resource and get that start that you need. There are of course fresh graduates who have that natural inborn talent and ability to already know how to communicate their ideas and teach.
There are many pedagogy books out there, yes, but the question is where to start? I feel the best approach is to make sure there is a mentor guide. Too many teachers treat their Diplomas/Degrees as the ends of their learning journeys. This is why they remain stagnant over the years. -
Yup i agree.

Hello. I have a child in K2 this year and am looking for a piano teacher in the Thomson, Bishan and Ang Mok Kio area. I don’t mind taking my child to the teacher’s home/studio. Is there a piano teacher you would highly recommend, someone strict, yet patient and kindly? Please pm me. My child has gone for trial lessons but the teachers/ time slots weren’t suitable. Thanks in advance.

Hi, you may want to check out SG Music Lessons website (http://www.SGMusicLessons.com.sg). There is a good list of qualified music teachers with details of the profiles (e.g. qualifications, experience, biography, area of teaching etc...) This should help you find a suitable teacher. -
Hi I am urgently looking for a patient & experienced good piano teacher who willing to travel to my home which is located at bukit batok area.
My gal is currently 6 yrs old and just completed Yamaha junior course last yr.
We prefer to have lessons in weekends (Sat whole day or Sun AM).
Any parents who know responsible and patient piano teachers to recommend, pls kindly PM me. Full time female teachers preferred.
Thanks a million!

Hi parents,
Our son is currently taking his piano lesson from a very good, understanding and dedicated teacher in Hougang. Unlike the teacher that he had previously who is very driven in scoring exam grades (which we personally find very vexing to our son), this teacher is very genuine in imparting music knowledge and skill to our son, so much so that we are so thankful to have found her.
In fact, she was recommended to us by another piano teacher who sends her own children to her for coaching.
Please drop me a PM if you’d like to have the teacher’s contact. I am sharing this testimonial about her, being grateful to have found her.
Thank you.
