      One question.

Is it better to go to a nearby neighbor hood school or travel from Jurong west to Bukit Timah to Nanyang primary?

Also which is a better move, to change my address to less than 1km to Rulang Primary to get phase 2C balloting or just be an alumni for Nanyang Primary and get a direct entry. Is phase 2C(if i live less than 1km away from the school) a high change for primary school admission? Because I know parents can only get 1 chance if fail to enter, we will be randomly given any school nearby...
Buy a house next to NYPS and stay till PSLE over

Sell it after PSLE and make a pile of profit as prices around there had dropped now and likely to recover after 6 or 7 years

Hi, does anyone know if attending Advanced Math lessons conducted in school after normal school hours can be considered a CCA? My ds is trying to complete the testimonial template given by the school. Thanks.

        Hi,bgmum.

Thanks for the reminder. πŸ˜„ I read in the GE handbook that it is an enrichment course.I rhink no harm listing it . DS said that FT will do the amendment if necessary.(testimonials).

Thanks Mapleleaf! Yes, we included it in. πŸ™‚

Today got the ISO cert (didn't really expect it). Are we supposed to include that in the template?[/quote]Ya think so. But we don't have access to softcopy on hand, so we will update the next round.

DS's ISO cert has no awards (only participation) πŸ˜† So maybe FT won't accept it. She already told them for music cert. can only accept Grade 8.(distinction is the best). She said at their level grade 6 or 7 is too common). :scared:

So I guess the FT will help to sort out the relevant ones. πŸ˜„

Is Nanyang Primary walkable from Farrer Road or Tan Kah Kee mrt? I just got an invitation approval for the alumni. Thinking hard whether is better to choose a nearby primary sch or Nanyang.

If its walkable from Farrer Road Mrt it will be great, as i believe driving there everyday sure jam.

Is it necessary to join the alumni even though without it we are still entitled to phase 2A(2). 2A(2) means no balloting and direct entry right? If that is so then why do we need to pay $1000 to join the alumni to become phase 2A(1). Is there any perks to be in phase 2A(1)?

You can avoid the jam by reaching school before 6.50am. CRC (Coronation Rd campus) is closer to TKK station (walkable) while Farrer Rd station is much closer to the main King's Rd campus.

                      2A(1) registration is BEFORE 2A(2).
Last year, IIRC, 2A(2) almost went into balloting. Number of applicants same as number of vacancies remaining for 2A(2).
If one more parent turned up, there would be balloting.

I would join it if I were you. It may be quite safe before the 40-seat-for-2B-onwards rule/policy was introduced, but you can't say for sure after the rule has been introduced.

We were one of those caught off-guarded when the rule was implemented without prior notice. The P1 registration became very unpredictable and stressful that year. In the weeks that led up to Phase 2A2, I had trouble sleeping and had constant stomachaches bcos of the stress. Given a choice, I would not go through that again! Go see the statistics listed on the school website and see if you are comfortable with not registering to be a member of the alumni association. If you think you can stomach the stress and risk losing the vacancy, then save the $1000. But no one can say for sure you will secure the seat if you pay though. In my opinion, 2A1 is a safer phase than 2A2.
